A little announcement here--well, more of a thank you. I want to thank
everyone who has ever read my column, because I thought maybe only 10
people or so (no offense to Stacie) would care enough to read it. I was
wrong. Thanks to everyone who wrote me nice notes, and those who pointed
out things I missed. Special thanks to Stacie, for giving me the
opportunity to write this in the first place.
Second, because there were so many in this particular episode, I've
divided the vcolumn up into 2 parts: DYNs and another entitled "How/Why
in the Hells". You'll see what I mean.
Did you notice....
- In the montage of clips at the beginning, there were no appearances
(thank God) of Jennifer, Samantha, Craig, Eve, Coop, Amy Locane,
Vanessa Williams...or Jake? (Oh sure, we can show Ryan, but not Jake. Oh
well)
- During the "previously on MP", there was new music played in the
background?
- They said Kimberly would be shown in flashbacks, which isn't quite the
same as being showed in a clip reel?
- Sarah didn't appear to be wearing a seat belt, and there were no
airbags (that we could see)?
- Peter's new haircut?
- Amanda said she told her mom what happened with Kent's murder, but her
mom ran out on her when she was a little girl, not after she was in high
school?
- Eve hit Lexi more in the upper back that the head with that pepper
grinder? In real life, you'd just say, "Ow, dammit, that hurt!"
- Eve took Lexi's clothes off for no good reason (other than for the male
viewers) since if she did it to wear Lexi's clothes, the clothes Lexi
was wearing when she got knocked out weren't the ones Eve was wearing
later?
- Eve didn't put toothpaste on her toothbrush before she used it? And she
had lipstick on when she brushed her teeth, but it didn't get smeared?
- The opening montage was mostly street signs for Melrose?
- Kyle's 'soul patch'?
- Kyle's face didn't change expression when Jane told him she was
pregnant, and he instantly assumed the baby was his?
- Also, at the reception he said, "you are all invited to our wedding"
and he never (that I can recall, hell the episode moved so fast it was a
blur) asked Jane to marry him?
- Kyle saying, "Hope I'm not jumping the gun" as he put up a baby mobile
in a nursery that wasn't even built yet, in a house that had no roof or
walls?
- Eve hit Michael on the upper back with that statue to knock him out,
yet later he's rubbing his head?
- The Dream House seems to be built dangerously close to the tide line?
- In Lexi's marraige vows, they used "love, honor, and trust" instead of
"love, honor, and obey"?
- The headline from another article under Peter and Amanda's obituary in
the paper said, "Power Plays at Work"?
- No-one seemed to be crying, or even teary, at the funeral? Most of them
were just squinting.
- Ingrid's Swedish accent kept coming and going?
- When she put her arms around Michael to kiss him, you could see the ad
she'd been writing on was filled with scribbles?
- Those shots in the tabloids of Peter picking up Amanda and romping
around in the surf weren't in the finale?
And now for the How-In-The-Hells...
- How in the hell did Sarah end up without even a scratch on her after
the car wreck? And Terri with only minor abrasions to her face?
- How in the hell was Kent going to have the strength to kill Amanda with
his bare hands when he couldn't even get out of the trench he was in,
and just sort of weakly put his arms up when she lifted up that huge
rock to kill him with?
- How in the hell did Eve get unconscious Michael down the stairs to her
apartment to put him in the bathtub with Lexi, let alone without anyone
seeing?
- How the hell did Lexi get her clothes on AFTER the cops handcuffed her?
- How the hell did Amanda find out the sex of the baby, when she was:
- out of the country, and
- Jane and Kyle had only found out an hour ago?
