Melrose In The News
for the week of:
March 8, 1999

The Wall Street Journal ran a nice article about why fans tuned in to Melrose. The author speculates that the show was actually a comedy masquerading as a drama. I agree.

Jack Wagner tells Soap Opera Digest that directing the show has brought him added respect. The other cast and crew members now talk to him.

Remember Peter's bout with rage epilepsy? No? Well, SOD was kind enough to recap it for us.

Is it possible for a Melrose plot to be worthy of an Oscar nod? SOD thinks so. It likens Eve's storyline to that of L.V.'s of Little Voice.

And finally from SOD is news of upcoming guest stars. Chris "Wicked Game" Issak will perform at The Upstairs on the March 22nd episode. And James Darren will reunite with his T.J. Hooker co-star, Heather, beginning April 12th.

Soap Opera Update speculates on whether Jack Wagner will reprise his role as Frisco Jones on General Hospital. I'm thinking he will.

What's going to take MP's place in the Fox schedule? SOU believes it will be Jennifer Love Hewitt's Party of Five spin-off, Time of Your Life. What else is on Mondays at 8?

Over the airwaves, Jack Wagner is featured in Where Are They Now?, VH1, 3/9, 10PM ET/PT. His Dirty Little Secret airs on USA, 3/10, 9:00PM ET/PT and again on 3/13 2:00PM ET/PT. And he'll guest on The Rosie O'Donnell Show, NBC, 3/12, 3:00PM ET/PT.

Brooke Langton stars in the forgettable Mixed Signals, Cinemax, 3/10, 11:30AM ET/PT. Her even more forgettable series, The Net, airs on USA, 3/13, 10:00PM ET/PT and is repeated 3/14, 11:00PM ET/PT.

Thomas Calabro guest stars in an episode (appropriately named for Michael, "Kiss the Girls and Make Them Die") of Law & Order, A&E, 3/11, 10:00AM ET/PT and again at 4:00PM ET/PT.

Perfiles Ínitimos profiles Heather Locklear en español, GEMS, 3/11 9:00PM ET/PT, 3/12 4:00AM ET/PT, 3/13 9:00PM ET/PT and 3/14 6:00PM ET/PT.

Daphne Zuniga's Modern Girls airs on Showtime, 3/13, 11:30AM ET/PT. If they run it often enough, I might just accidentally see it one of these days.

Alyssa Milano's Hugo Pool airs on The Movie Channel, 3/13 9:25AM ET/PT and again at 11:10PM ET/PT. Don't look for Charmed on Wednesday. The WB has given us a reprieve and will instead be showing two episodes of Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane, the world's oldest looking teenagers.

Amy Locane's Implicated, is still on Cinemax, 3/14, 10:00PM ET/PT.

Courtney Thorne-Smith's best movie, Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise runs on The Comedy Channel, 3/15, 8:00PM ET/PT and 3/16, 4:00PM ET/PT.

And USA is running episodes of Rob Estes' Silk Stalkings, 3:00PM ET/PT, Monday through Fridays. Immediately following at 4:00PM ET/PT are David Charvet's episodes of Baywatch. Follow the links below for full text of selected items:
