The episode starts at the practice and Megan walking into Peter's office. She is begging Peter not to be angry but his new equipment hasn't arrived yet at the hospital. Peter looks up a little shocked; he never ordered any equipment. He grabs the forms and quickly notices his signature has been forged. But where did the old equipment get moved to? Why, a newly opened medical center in downtown LA. Peter begins to lose his temper but is cut off by Coop. Coop relays to Peter how he helped Lexi move out of the condo that morning. This shocks Megan, who wonders how did Lexi find a place to live so fast? That's when Coop lets it slip that she actually moved in with him. Megan is dumbfounded and tells Coop to come to her office and explain and then she storms out. Coop is about to leave when Peter grabs him. "Listen Coop, before you go in there and get your butt kicked, I need a favor," he says. Peter explains how he was not involved in Tommy Sterling's death. He wants Coop to use his "Ohio Connections" to get a hold of Tom's old medical forms to look for something wrong. Coop goes into a frenzy and demonstrates some more of his classic bad acting. "Tom has never been sick a day in his life! I don't owe you any favors!" He then goes off to get his butt kicked.
What? Still in the practice? Coop goes in to Megan's office and tries to explain his current sleeping arrangement. She complains because Coop has time to move Lexi out of Peter's house but he has no time to be with her. Her eyes get misty as she tells of her attempted assault the night before at Micheal's practice. Coop waves his arms and shows some more poor acting. "Okay that's it! Micheal's practice is off limits!" Only Megan likes it there because Micheal actually cares about her. Coop tries to convince her that he cares too. "You care about a lot of people Coop. It's a pretty big club," she says. "I don't deserve that," Coop responds and Megan asks him to leave.
Now we move back to the complex. Finally - it's already like ten minutes into the show. Billy sits and stares at some drawings. Sam comes in and looks surprised, she thought he was going to be in New York for the week. Billy says that Amanda is going in his stead and he's stuck working on this ballroom campaign. Sam gets angry because those are her drawings and Billy is trying to change them. "It's not my fault, the client wanted a new spin. So sit down, let's get to work," he says. She can't though, because she is swamped in the Baylor campaign. Billy gives a sigh of jealousy which further enrages Sam. He remarks on how she is always working on that campaign with "Mr. Baseball." The two are about to argue more when Jennifer shows up at the door wanting to see a movie. Sam pushes past her saying she's taking her work back to the office. Jennifer comes inside and chats it up with Billy. He complains about ballroom dancing and how boring it is. Then he reveals a deep dark secret from his past. He used to teach Ballroom Dancing. Wow! First soccer and now this - will the miracles of Billy Campbell never cease? Jennifer still thinks it's very romantic so Billy tells her to take a class. "Great idea!," she says, "But you have to come with me. It will be fun!" The scene fades away while Billy envisions Jennifer in - and out of - her prom gown.
The scene shifts to the outside of the Mancini Medical Center and Peter's car pulling up. He looks around at the dump Micheal has opened and then goes inside. He has a very angry look on his face as he enters. "Never thought I'd see you here," Micheal remarks. "Tell me Micheal, how long before my car is stolen?" Peter says to anger him. He then walks into the back room. Peter gets even angrier to see all of the equipment with the initials "WM" stamped on them. Micheal tries to save himself by saying that it means "Wallace Mancini," his uncle to whom he dedicated the place. "Cut the crap Micheal! You're a thief and I'm calling the cops!" Peter hisses as he walks hastily towards the exit. Micheal pleads and pleads for Peter to change his mind. When they get outside Peter is grabbed and thrown against the wall. Spider comes out and threatens him for messing with his pal Dr. Mancini. "What, did you rent out a gang now Micheal?" Peter asks while being choked. Micheal urges them to let him go explaining that he is his hero. He tells Spider how Peter was the one who donated all of the equipment to the center. Peter goes along with it, clearly just wanting to get out of there. He hops in his car and drives off. "You didn't pop his car phone, did you?" Micheal asks Spider.
Okay, question. Billy and Jennifer are amongst couples dancing - did they just happen to find a place giving lessons that night? What a coincidence. Billy is swaying and twirling, making me laugh as I think of him teaching others how to do it. He spins Jennifer around and she gets a little surprised. Billy tells her not to be worried, just to not let go of him. Jennifer happily accepts that offer and keeps her hands firmly placed on him. Billy is just asking for an affair here.
A jazz singer sings as Melrose shows off the Jazz star they hooked this week. Amanda makes her way through the crowd and is stopped by Taylor. "Amanda! How brave of you to be out so soon after Kyle ditched you at your wedding!" She says. Amanda clarifies to Taylor that the wedding was simply postponed, then ditches her. Kyle sneaks up behind her and kisses her. He is worried, he's been calling her all day. Amanda informs him that she is going away for the week to New York for a campaign. Kyle is completely taken aback. "What about the wedding?" he asks. Amanda brings up Christine again and how she is ruining everything. Kyle tells her "to give her a break, she tried to kill herself. Besides, you were the one who invited her here." Amanda responds with the humorous line, "Oh please! She would have made it here anyway, all roads lead to Kyle McBride!" She leaves and says to Kyle that when she gets home Christine better be gone. We fade to commercial with Kyle's famous "I'm supposed to be shocked but I'm really a bad actor" look.
We rejoin the show back at Melrose Place with Billy and Sam, the newlywed couple who are both about to have affairs with someone else. You might want to cover that up with a sweater," Billy says as he looks at Sam's dress. He then walks outside and can hear dancing music. He looks up to Jennifer's apartment and she dances by the window a few times, holding a mop as her dance partner. Billy smiles, another student whom he has successfully taught to dance. I wonder if he ever gave lessons to Alison?
Now we see Christine in bed with a sick look on her face. We all know this is because she has just slept with Nick which would make anyone sick. Nick is strapping on his belt when Kyle knocks on the door. Christine leaps up to put something on and Nick closes himself in the closet. Kyle walks in with a big bag of groceries and gives them to Christine. They discuss their feelings for each other and Christine says she thinks she's about ready to go home. Before she goes she wants to spend a day with Kyle. She asks if tomorrow they could eat lunch and go for a walk or something. Kyle say "yes" immediately and says someone will cover the club for him. He walks out smiling, not realizing of course that sleazy Nick is in the closet. Kyle closes the door and Nick throws open the closet. He is raving that she can't go home yet, because Amanda and Kyle are still together. Christine assures him that she isn't going anywhere but she is going to spend as much time as possible with Kyle. Nick grabs her and tells her that this whole thing is "not just about the 5 grand they're going to make." He also wants to be buddies with Kyle. I gotta tell you, there are easier and more effective ways of mending a broken friendship - I'm sure Hallmark has a "Sorry I Ruined Your First Marriage and Disrupted Your Second Wedding While I Sleep With Your Wartime Girlfriend" card.
Micheal is working feverishly pushing papers at his practice. The door opens and Megan comes in. She says that knife wielding thugs aren't going to scare her off from living her life. She reminds Micheal that it's such a dangerous neighborhood and perhaps he should close shop. He assures her it's fine and asks for the real reason she came down there. She breaks down and spits out all of her trouble with Coop. Micheal says that is the source of her problem, Coop, or as he says, "Mr. Ivy League." He says that Megan is a good woman and doesn't deserve to be treated that way. He gives her a big hug and as he pulls away from it, she kisses him. Of course we're talking about Micheal Mancini here, so he naturally goes right in and enjoys it. She pulls back and says she can't get involved in that now. Micheal replies with, "I want what you want." We all know what Micheal hopes she "wants." She walks out and Micheal stares back with a look on his face that says "DAMN IT!"
At the Upstairs, Billy is pushing through such a throng of people surely someone important must be there. Even Jon Secada didn't pull in a crowd like this. He goes to the bar and asks Jennifer if she wants to see the campaign. "For my dance partner, anything," she replies. She thinks it's so romantic and says that Billy did a great job. She gives him a look that says, "I want you right here and now!" but holds back her feelings. Sam shows up behind Billy and kisses him, saying they have a table waiting downstairs. She glances down at the campaign and looks back at Billy. "Oh Billy, the clients are going to hate this!" Billy looks rejected and Jennifer looks ticked. Sam apologizes and asks Billy to dance, saying he has always been such a good dancer. How come we have gone through six seasons and never heard about this? Now it comes up twice in one show! In a Melrose mistake, Billy gets up to dance and you can see him drop the campaign on the floor as he walks to the dance floor. He holds out Sam's hands and she looks shocked. "I don't want to do that old fogey dancing, I just want to be close to you." She hugs him and kisses him while an annoyed Jennifer watches on, desperately wanting the chick magnet that IS Billy Campbell.
We are welcomed back from commercial with Megan opening her apartment door only to see Coop outside. He begs and begs, saying it was not his fault, he loves her not Lexi. Megan tells Coop how she went to see Michael the previous night. "Okay, now I'm fuming," Coop says in a dull tone. It is not clear if he was trying to act angry, because his acting is not good. Andrew Shue is really not so bad now but Coop is just awful. Anyway, Megan yells to Coop, "Look, I'm not some teenage girl who just got off a bus from Iowa, I've been around the block a few times!" Actually in her previous profession she was around the block quite a few times. Coop then goes into a big speech about how much he cares for her and wants to be with her. She says that in order for that to happen, he has to lose his ex-wife. What does Lexi have to say about this? Good question, we're more than halfway through and she has yet to appear. Coop then comes right out and says, "I don't want to see you end up with Michael!" Megan gives Coop a mean stare.
Hey! The next scene is in New York! That's where I am! Amanda is in a hotel answering a phone call from Kyle. Behind her is a really fake background of New York but who cares? Kyle says he is just "checking in." Amanda raves about how productive the trip has been thus far. Amanda doesn't beat around the bush and asks about Christine. Kyle says that she is leaving the day after tomorrow and she needn't worry. Amanda blabs on but Kyle doesn't hear her. Christine appears in the doorway and Kyle melts. He can barely choke out a word to Amanda but manages to end the conversation and hang up the phone. Christine asks Kyle if he told Amanda about their day of "fun," but Kyle responds with, "Believe me, she could care less." The two walk out of his office. As they exit, Taylor confronts them. "Oh, when the cat's away the rat will play, huh?" Kyle tells her to watch the club, because he has "things" to do. Taylor then says, "Things, looks to me like a date." Kyle stares back angrily, "Well you should get your eyes checked!" The two then leave for a day of fun and excitement. As they wander through Kyle's, we see Billy and Sam eating a nice meal together. They try to make small talk but can't think of two words to say to each other. Instead, they argue about who is spending more time in their campaign. Billy defends his ballroom dancing as being fun and he tells ger how he took classes. She jumps in and immediate asks who his dance partner was. He replies with, "you know, whoever's around." Ohhh, he decided to not mention Jennifer. Billy decides maybe he should check his messages and Sam quickly agrees.
Coop walks through the practice and into his office only to find Peter snooping around. Peter complains that he should have thrown Coop's "devious butt" out of the practice for keeping this from him. Apparently Tommy had a condition in his head that Peter describes as "a ticking time bomb." He could have died at any time. As Peter makes his case, we see Lexi entering the practice, eavesdropping on them. Peter accuses Coop of not telling anyone about the condition so he could have Lexi himself. That's when she steps in and tells Peter to back off. She puts him in his place by telling him that Coop had told her all about the condition that morning when he first found out. Coop exits, leaving the two quarreling ex-lovers alone. "I didn't kill your father," he says. She let's him know that she now knows that, she was just coming to let him know. "I don't want to lose you," Peter comes out and says but it's too late. Lexi doesn't like the kind of guy who records conversations and other tricky tactics like that. So, poor Peter loses again. Maybe he should try knifing her to death in the operating room - who says history can't repeat itself?
Kyle and Christine are walking around outside laughing and having a good time. Christine stops and starts crying. Kyle, who always feels bad for a woman, rushes to comfort her. She prattles on about how things were so perfect that day and now it has to end. Kyle tells her that they have to move on with their lives and she has to stop gawking at him. Christine pulls Kyle in for a nice juicy kiss which he does not resist. They lock lips for a short bit before Kyle remembers he already has a woman. He pushes away Christine and offers to take her home.
Megan pulls up to the Mancini Medical Center and walks up to the front. For some reason she just taps the outside of the glass and waits out there. Inside she can see Michael bandaging up the arm of a patient and he smiles back at her. As she waits for him, Coop's slick set of wheels pull up beside her. Coop jumps out and runs over. He babbles to her about how what they lacked in their relationship was a commitment. He tells her that he talked with Amanda and she will rent them the free apartment in the complex. (This would be our good dead friend Craig's) He says he loves her and wants her with him. Megan almost cries because she is so touched by Coop's romantic offer. They hug and kiss and then begin to head off. Michael stares in disbelief and races towards them, leaving his patient's bandages hanging. "Megan, wait!" he yells but she is already in her car waving goodbye to him. She drives off and Michael turns to Coop. "Better luck next time Michael," Coop quips. "Oh, but there isn't going to be a next time," he finishes as he hops into his car and drives off. Again, all Michael can do is stare hard and look constipated.
The scene turns to the Harvest Motel and Kyle bringing Christine to her room. Nick stands by his car watching them from a distance. Christine nervously asks Kyle to spend the night, saying she just needs someone with her while she sleeps. She begs him and Kyle stares back at her, agreeing to her twisted scheme and now I am convinced this man has the IQ of goat cheese.
And does the fun never end? During the commercial break, there's a FOX promo featuring none other than Rob Estes (Kyle) himself. His back is to the screen then he turns around throwing his hand out. The word "FOX" lands in it as you hear the announcer saying, "You're watching Fox!" Really? I thought this was the Olympics. Afterwards, Rob winks at the camera as if to say, "I'm not really an idiot - I just play one on TV."
Christine awakens the next morning to see Kyle sitting in the chair next to her. He had spent the whole night there with her. He's sitting there staring at her like she's his main love interest. He then hops up and gets ready to head over to the Jazz Club. Christine asks if Amanda would mind this and Kyle tells her she's coming back that evening. Christine reminds him that she is leaving for New Mexico this evening as well and they wouldn't see each other anymore. They embrace once more and Kyle tells her that things will be alright. Kyle heads out leaving a crying Christine behind him.
Now we see the generic office building that Melrose uses whenever they need an office that is not the practice. Inside, a man finishes reading Tommy's Will. Coop bounces around a little money clip which Tommy left for him. "My father always knew you loved that money clip," Lexi says. Hmmmm, his friend dies and all he gets is a money clip? Lexi walks out and the man stops Coop. He shows him an extra part of the Will that Tom had left. It states that if Coop remarries Lexi within the next twelve months, they will inherit ten million dollars. Tommy thought Coop was the only man who was good enough for his daughter. Coop tears up the envelope and says he's not interested. The man tells Coop that just because he ripped up the letter doesn't mean the offer isn't still valid. Coop has one year to make his decision.
Kyle comes home and walks around his house. He goes into the bathroom and washes his face. "Sorry to startle you," Amanda says, coming up behind him. Of course Kyle never moved at all, so I don't know why Amanda thought she had scared him. She apparently came home a day earlier and couldn't find her man. Kyle admits to spending the night with Christine. He promises nothing happened between them and professes his love to Amanda. He says their relationship will go nowhere if they have no trust. Amanda gets misty eyed and says she trusts him, Kyle acknowledges that he trusts her too.
There's a knock at Jennifer's door and, answering it, she sees it's Sam who once again is in desperate need of Jennifer's expert love advice. She's troubled by her obsession with Baseball Boy and notes he's getting ready to leave town for spring training. Jennifer offers her this analogy: "Sometimes when you're driving the same car for awhile you begin to get interested in another one, even if you don't need one." Sam sighs and says she'll keep her "old car" - she hasn't been married two months and already Billy is "old"?! Jennifer suggests Sam could also "test drive" the new one and why the hell she's talking about cars when Sam needs RELATIONSHIP advice is a mystery to me.
We now go back to the Harvest Motel where Christine is packing up her bags. Nick comes in, looking shocked. She's not supposed to be leaving, it ruins the plan. Nick brings up how he saw her inviting Kyle into her hotel room the previous night. Christine admits to falling in love with him again and is going home because she doesn't want to hurt him. At that moment Taylor shows up in the room angry that she hasn't had much of a storyline lately. She yells at Christine for trying to wiggle out of her end of their "deal" and tells her she can't leave town until their plan - to break up Amanda and Kyle - is successful.
Sam knocks on Jeff's door and, as he opens it, she tries to walk away but he calls her back. She obviously wasn't ever very good as a child on Mischief Night. Sam is looking really nervous and whines how she's "not even in the market for a new car" which confuses Jeff so she steps forward and kisses him passionately. Either this girl is terrible at making decisions or she's a good candidate for lithium. The two kiss their way back into Jeff's house where Sam pushes him down on the couch, straddles him and takes off her shirt.
And where is her poor sap of a husband Billy? He's overlooking a photo shoot involving ballroom dancers gliding across the floor. If we have learned anything from this episode it's that, where there are dancers, there's Dance Master Billy. He wraps up the photo shoot and for some reason Jennifer is standing off to the side - maybe she had a minor in dancing while she was majoring in Screwing Up Your Life back in Boston. The dancers clear the dance floor and Jennifer rushes over to Billy. They are both excited about finally finishing this campaign and Billy asks for a dance with Jennifer, his "inspiration" throughout the whole thing. They get close and dance around the floor gracefully, their heads gradually coming together. Jennifer goes in and kisses Billy. Billy kisses back and then they are caught in a permanent lip lock. The episode fades out......

As Michael helps a wounded Spider, Spider gives him the key to a bus locker which turns out to be full of cash; Jennifer asks Sam if she "did the deed" with Jeff and then jumps Billy herself; Kyle asks Amanda to marry him tomorrow and she agrees; Taylor tells Christine she must stop the wedding; Christine ends up back in the hospital where Amanda threatens to kill her.
"A Swing and a Mrs."
Wow, Melrose is on a roll now, this is another good episode. The show starts in Wilshire Memorial as Kyle wanders into Christine's room. She looks surprised and confused, I don't know if it's from Kyle's appearance or the fact that in between episodes she's managed to change hospital gowns. She tells Kyle that she never thought he would ever come after she ruined the wedding. Kyle forgives her saying it was no problem. She is eager to get home but dopey Kyle, wanting another challenge in his life, tells her to stay a little longer. He wants to be there to "help" her. I think we know what kind of "help" Kyle wants to give. Anyway, he leaves and Christine races for the phone. We now see a dresser with countless empty beer cans on it. Nick answers the phone with what he thinks is funny. "Suicide Hotline, Nick speaking." It's hard to take him seriously while he sits there reading a porn magazine. Christine says she is totally amazed that Kyle wanted her to stay and that he cared about her so much. This made her feel good because no one ever really cared about her. "Aww... now I'm getting all sweet and mushy inside," idiot Nick responds. He tells her to keep fooling Kyle because he has a lot riding on this little plan.
