Part Two

"The Nasty-Minded Professor"

Sam is wandering through D&D, when she overhears Amanda saying those two words that just turn her to mush. "Jeff Baylor" Ahhhhhhhh, he's so dreamy! Amanda shocks Sam by revealing that Baylor's done for good. His knee is "turned to mush" and he will never play again. Sam looks super depressed at Baseball boy's predicament. With a none-too-sympathetic comment about washed-up athletes, Amanda suggests that Sam stay with Billy.

Coop is bragging to Megan about how good he is at small talk with the other doctors. He's feeling quite good about himself when the sinister Dr. Larner approaches, and sends Coop off to chat with another doctor. Coop goes with a look on his face that either says he was lying about how good he is buttering up the doctors or saying he wishes he had done the Mortal Kombat sequel rather than this script. The mad doctor, of course, was just using a cheap excuse so he can drool all over Megan. Larner tells Megan to meet him at a hotel that night, and they can do it without interruptions. Coop appears again, bragging some more at how cool he is. Displaying some Kyle-like intelligence, Coop does not notice The mad doctor's sex-hungry stares at Megan.

Rory enters Amanda's office, wearing the same ugly shirt he wore in last week's show. Amanda quickly leaves, and for some reason lets Rory stay in her office. She has also conveniently left her computer logged on, and Rory makes his way through her files, ranting about how rich she is. Clearly he is up to no good.

Michael charges through D&D, until he interrupts a meeting between Billy, Lexi, and Amanda. Billy looks a bit out of place, because I can only think of one other scene in the entire season, where he has had to even see Lexi. Michael brethlessly rants that he wants to drop his lawsuit against Peter, but needs to know where he is. After much resistance, Lexi gives in, and spills the beans on Pete's location. Michael begins to leave, and is beeped. He walks out to the nearest desk, and calls Taylor. Amanda walks behind him as he assures Taylor the baby is fine. Amanda grabs Michael, and demands to know the daddy. Mike tells her that the father is Kyle, yet again covering up the true father's identity.

Sam pops in on her main squeeze Bil- I mean Jeff, and sees how he is doing. Ex-Baseball boy is throwing things and very frustrated by everything. He doesn't think he can do anything after his big Major League career. Ooooooohhhh Minor League! Sam says everything will be okay, and gets close to her man.

Amanda is eating dinner with Rory, when "the man" walks by. Of course I am referring to Kyle. Amanda wishes him well on fathering Taylor's baby, and then pulls Rory away for some close dancing. As she dances, she eyes Billy talking to his main squeeze Sam- I mean Jennifer. The Shue-Man is complaining that he has lost all feelings for Sam, and hates this new "devoted to Billy" Sam. All he wants to do is bang Jennifer, so she leads him towards Kyle's office. Amanda notices the two slip out, and follows. She opens the door, laughing at the lovers. The two nervously split apart, and stare at Amanda. Billy asks if she could keep this to herself, and not mention it to Sam. Amanda, who has to be busting up inside knowing about both Billy and Sam's affairs, obliquely hints at Sam's affair with macho Jeff, but Billy is too dim to catch it (First Kyle, then Billy...Jennifer doesn't pick the brightest bulbs in the package). As she exits she humorously says, "Bartender, when you're done servicing Mr. Campbell, Rory and I would like some drinks."

Next we all get a good laugh at home as Peter is wearing his silly fishing outfit. The fisherman's hat is what made me laugh the most. Michael shows up, scaring the living daylights out of poor Fisherman Burns. Michael shows off all of his cool camping equipment, which includes beef jerky, and of course, PORN!!! Fisherman Burns is very uninterested in even spending one more minute with the malignant tumor called Michael. Peter races through the forest with Michael in tow. Michael passes him a piece of paper which declares that he has dropped the lawsuit. He then hints that maybe out of kindness Peter should let him back into the practice. Peter freaks, and tears up the paper, throwing it down on the ground.

Billy is chewing the fat with Jennifer (no, not chewing the fat ON Jennifer), as they chat about Sam. After Amanda's comment Billy is very suspicious that Sam could be doing more than just talking to Baseball Boy. Jennifer for some reason does not tell Billy she knows all about the affair Sam is having, but tells Billy he can count on her for anything.

The Evil Mad Doctor Larner is returning home to find his wife having some tea with Megan. The mad doctor is surprised, and escorts Megan outside the house. He grabs her by the arm, and walks demands to know what she has told his wife. Megan tells the doctor that she simply made friends with his wife, and that there was no need for him to be afraid, unless he continued to pressure her.

Michael and Peter are still racing through the woods trying to get back to the cabin. Peter notices the torn paper on the ground, indicating that they had been walking in circles. Michael demands to know why he is not welcome at the practice, so Peter gives him the reasons in a very humorous sentence. "Let's see, you've drugged me, cheated me, betrayed me, and tried to have me committed for rage epilepsy." A coyote howls in the background, and Peter freaks out. "Don't worry Peter, he's harmless, like a small dog." Michael tries to assure him. Then there is a chorus of howls. "That's why he's traveling with that gang!" Peter responds. They decide to start a fire and camp out, but of course, it begins to rain.

It's now morning in the forest, and Michael is cuddling up to his honey Megan, at least that's what he thinks. Peter wakes up and pulls Michael's arms off of him in disgust. Fisherman Peter yet again begins to act like a crazy man, and yells at Michael. He starts to walk away, and conveniently happens to step right onto a steep hill. Peter topples down the hill, and bangs his leg at the bottom. Mike races down to help him, and apparently Peter has hurt his knee badly (the "special knee episode" between Jeff and Peter will be in the new season, no doubt).

Amanda is having another meeting with Lexi about her company. Amanda brings in a guest to pitch something, only it happens to be our good friend Rory. Is it just me, or do other viewers really hate this guy too? He pitches up this idea that Lexi should dress very scantily clad and do some photo shots with the logo. Billy, obviously not thinking clearly, throws the idea out as being crazy. Lexi agrees to the plan, which is beyond me. She doesn't seem like the character who would do something like that, but who am I to complain? Amanda tells Billy and Sam to get to work, and they reluctantly stare at each other.

Coop is walking around with Megan, in an empty house. They have decided this is where they want to move. The two stop and look out the window, but Coop clearly has something on his mind. Is it the fact that Linden Ashby is on the cover of Playgirl this month? Nope, he's thinking about marriage. Coop proposes to Megan, and she joyfully accepts the offer.

Jeff stands with Sam, as he coaches a little league game. In the background you can see Billy standing there watching him. Uh oh! I smell trouble! Baylor cheers on his troop of youngsters, as they bring home a victory. He and Sam kiss, right in front of Billy. Billy shifts into angry mode, and charges towards the ex-baseball boy. In something right out of Jerry Springer Billy cold cocks Jeff, right in the face, Without saying a word! Alright! I saw that scene on the ad and couldn't wait to see Billy wail on him! Baylor crashes to the ground, and Billy shouts, "Did you sleep with my wife?!" Baylor thinks a moment, then responds with, "Yes I did, and I love her!" The two then begin to do battle once again. Sam rushes into the duel, and is knocked over backwards. She hits her head on a baseball bat, and is knocked out. Sam's two lovers try their best to help her.

Michael drags Peter up the hill, constantly repeating how good a friend he is for helping Peter. They look like they are on the same hill that Peter fell, but now it is nighttime and Peter and Michael are talking about how long they've been out there. Michael tries to use his boy-scout knee splinting skills to get back into the practice, but Peter only agrees to consider it. At that moment, Michael stumbles onto a clearing where he sees a diner. Noticing that Peter didn't see the diner (or the neon glow from the signs, or the sounds of people around, or the smell of food on a grill) Michael makes Peter a deal: If Michael can get a burger in one of Peter's hands and a cold beer in the other, Peter will not only let Michael back into the practice but he'll also kiss him on the lips and pay the office rent for a month "Well pucker up big boy, you just got your old partner back!" Michael exclaims, and here I was worried Michael would be out of good story lines, being without a practice and all.

Sam's group of lover's are waiting around at the hospital, for news on their sweetie. The doctor comes out and says Sam will be fine. Sam then stumbles out, and is forced to choose which man should take her home. She decides she has to go with her husband, and leaves Ex-baseball boy standing with a sad look on his face. Awwwwwwww

Megan and Coop are once again chatting it up with the mad doctor. Coop mentions their new house, and how happy they are. The mad doctor gives a hungry stare at Megan, as she leaves. Later, Megan is setting up some candles and pouring wine for what is sure to be a romantic evening with Coop. Someone knocks on the door, and it happens to be the mad doctor! Megan runs away, but he grabs her, and tries to take what he wants. Coop comes crashing in. Yes! Two fights in one show! Coop shows off his muscles, by grabbing the mad doctor and escorting him outside. Megan begins to cry as Johnny Cage, er, Coop drags Larner out of the house.

Billy gets ready for work, trying not to talk with Sam. She attempts to make conversation with him, but Billy just acts emotionless. Or is he not acting? He walks outside, and bumps into Jennifer. She uses her psychic powers to figure out that Sam must have been sleeping with Baylor. Billy doesn't want to hear it, and just heads off to work.

Megan is waiting outside for her honey Coop, while he campaigns for his job. (Geez, this job takes a lot of work to get!) The mad doctor's wife stops next to her, and tells her that she was not the first to be taken advantage of. Apparently the mad doctor carries a lot of weight in Philadelphia, and if you challenge him, you will not win. Mrs. Mad Doctor says Coop is being forced to choose between Megan or the job. Hmmmmmm

Hey, it's been a while since we've seen Kyle. He is standing with Taylor in the restaurant, and she is so happy. Kyle tries to get Taylor to spill the beans on Christine, by pretending that he is really upset. He says that he can't stop thinking about her, and how he destroyed her life. He says he can't ever be happy with another woman ever again. Taylor is about to tell him everything, when Amanda walks in. She throws over some divorce papers, and wants Kyle to sign them. Apparently she is going to go to the Dominican Republic for a "quickie" divorce, like Kyle and Amanda did last season. Because he's such an idiot, Kyle signs the papers. Rory is riding in the back of his sleek limo, chatting on a cellular phone. He says that he will get together with Amanda, and if he doesn't, she might face an accident (and I thought Billy's acting was bad!). I hope this guy faces an accident and soon.

Coop comes home to his empty house, and finds Megan on her way out the door. She tries to persuade Coop into thinking that his life will be better without her, but Coop doesn't buy it. He then reveals to Megan that he told the school to "take their offer and shove it." Megan and Coop smile, and head back to LA, ready to get married. Of course once Coop gets back home maybe he will realize he just bought a house in Philadelphia.

Jennifer pops in on Kyle, and is shocked at what he has done. He assures her that he can prove it and get to Amanda within 48 hours. Kyle probably doesn't realize that flying to the Dominican Republic has got to cut out at least a quarter of his time.

Amanda is sitting on a plane with Rory, on their way out to the Republic. Out of nowhere, Rory proposes to Amanda. She thinks for all of two seconds, then agrees to the proposal. First Kyle, now Rory, Amanda really knows how to pick them!

Wait...end credits?? Already? Is it just me or did this not feel like a season finale? The only cliff-hanger is Amanda's wedding, the rest is like any other episode. I guess we need to wait for Melrose's "Summer of Love" to get a real season finale. Oh well...until June...
