Speaking of Matt, Coop wanders in and introduces himself to Megan saying he moved into Matt's old apartment. Thus begins this week's opening segment "Confessions in the Courtyard" where every Melrose plot currently in action is summed up better than the beginning flashbacks ever could. Coop and Megan exchange greetings and Coop says, "Is it always this peaceful around here?" as if anything BAD has ever happened there (bombs, brides being thrown into swimming pools and dead people putting dirt into resident's beds are all standard fare in apartment complexes these days, right?) Jennifer comes in from a jog, runs to the pool side, and tells Megan she needs to return Michael's phone calls because the answering machine is jam-packed. As Jennifer is new to the show, we don't know everything about her, but a couple of questions now come to mind about the newest Mancini, including: (a) How does she have a psychic link with the answering machine so she knows about all the messages after her jog, instead of just telling Megan beforehand? (b) Don't most woman wear a sports bra...or at least some type of bra...when jogging? Jennifer and Coop exchange greetings and Jennifer must realize the protrusion from beneath her shirt as she crosses her arms across her chest. Coop says, upon hearing Jennifer's last name, "Mancini. Any relation to Michael?" Jennifer replies "sister" while running up to her apartment, and Megan, in a talkative mood, adds "Wife, respectively." Coop turns to Megan and says he's sorry about Michael's hands. Megan rambles on "I'd be more concerned except that he had it coming and, well, we're separated." Before I can even start to wonder why she'd tell that to a total stranger, Jennifer chimes in from the balcony with "She misses him already though."
A door opens and Craig, doing his best Jake-on-a-bender impersonation, comes out and walks silently for the gate. Jennifer yells a cheery "Good Morning, Craig," only to be given a cold glare. Beneath Jennifer, Sam and Billy are kissing in their open doorway (don't these people have any shame? Can't they kiss THEN open the door?). Craig mutters "Let's go, Campbell." Megan takes the opportunity to introduce everyone to Coop, but Jennifer has already gone inside, Craig ignored Coop's outstretched hand and stalked off to the gate, Sam turned around and closed the door behind her, leaving only Billy to meet the newest Melrose tenant briefly before following Craig out the gate. Seeing how everyone here seems to be wearing their hearts on their sleeves this morning, Megan openly embraces the "Confessions in the Courtyard" premise and turns to Coop saying, "Okay, here's the abridged edition: Craig just lost his wife Sydney in a terrible accident on their wedding day. Craig blames Samantha because she was in the car that ran Sydney down. Now Billy works with Craig so he's caught right in the middle. And Sam, oh, she's a terrible wreck, and understandably because her father was in the car with her and he died too...in the same accident." And here I always thought call girls were good at keeping secrets. Before Coop can even start to absorb this, a door opens and someone shouts "Bitch." I thought it was someone screaming at Megan for revealing all their secrets, but it's Taylor, who is now marching up to Amanda's apartment muttering "She has no right." Amanda answers the door, wrapped in a leopard spotted blanket. Taylor tells Amanda where she can stick her eviction notice, and starts to argue about "tenant's rights, squatter's rights, human rights" to which Amanda sneers, "Look who's talking about being human: the most inhuman person on earth." Taylor is not fazed: "Oh really? Giving up your title so soon?" Rahr! Then the bell rings, the round is over, and Kyle comes in to break things up. He closes the door in Taylor's face and turns to calm Amanda. Amanda asks Kyle if he is bothered by his ex-wife now living there and he says, "No, I'm trying to be adult about it." It's always good when adulterers can be adult about it, but Amanda goes off to "put some clothes on, go down there, and be totally un-adult about it."
Inside Taylor's apartment there's a pounding on the door. Taylor goes to answer it, expecting Amanda, only to see Peter standing in her doorway, a box in his arms. "Here," he says, pointing to the box. "Here's the crap that you left behind, probably so you have an excuse to drop by the condo and take another run at me." He steps inside to set the box down on a table by the door and misses Amanda's descent down the staircase from her apartment. Peter just continues to rant: "I'm telling you right now, you can prostrate yourself on my front steps and the only response you'll get is a call from me to the pest control man!" Taylor, apparently numbed to Peter's verbal assaults since the altar, just says "Peter, please don't talk to me like that." Peter incredulously replies, "That's right! I forgot about your pregnancy. I should really be more considerate about your delicate condition. Well to hell with that and you too! Goodbye, Mommy Dearest!" Peter slams the door behind him and Amanda ducks behind a bush. In case anyone had fears Amanda didn't hear the crux of that conversation, she whispers to herself "pregnant?" Of course she heard. This IS confessions in the Courtyard, after all, and as we finally fade to opening credits, I realize everyone has stepped on-screen except hospitalized Michael.
After we return, we go to Peter and Michael's office. Megan walks in to see Peter and it's hard to tell who's more shocked at the other being there. "My God, what are you doing here?" Peter asks. "I mean you still don't think you work here after all that's happened." Megan reveals that since no one fired her, she kept showing up to keep things running. She asks Peter, "Didn't want the practice to collapse, did you?" Oh! So when one doctor is gone and the other hospitalized, the secretary sees patients to earn income. I get it now. Peter says that despite Megan's medical efforts the practice will close anyway, and Michael is pressing charges for Peter throwing him through a window. Peter, meanwhile, is striking back for being drugged and having his job stolen. Megan points out that they'll only destroy each other. Peter takes this to mean Megan is siding with Michael, to which she responds, "I'm not taking sides with anyone." Peter, not comprehending basic English, interprets that as "I'm on your side" and starts asking for Michael's computer passwords. When Megan reiterates that she isn't taking sides, Peter says "Fine, go back to your desk out there and leave me alone." And here I thought he started the conversation telling her she didn't have a job. It must be her medical skills that changed his mind. Jennifer is waiting outside Peter's office in a low-cut black dress...and I must say that dress shows me more of Alyssa than I've seen since "Embrace Of The Vampire" (anyone who's seen that movie knows what I mean). Jennifer tries to convince Megan to go with her to cheer Michael up before surgery. Megan agrees to go, and with that little street wise, I can't understand how she ever made it as a call girl.
Michael is wheeled out on a hospital bed, hands still mummified in bandages, to find Megan, Jennifer, and Dr. Coop waiting. Michael is all smiles about surgery and Megan, seeing Jennifer's ploy, says "So, your spirits are okay." Jennifer, knowing the jig is up, suggests she and Coop leave Michael and Megan alone. After they've gone, Michael tries to tell Megan he's glad she came to visit, but Megan is upset over being tricked. Seeing that he's not going to get anywhere with Megan during this visit, he shifts gears and starts to ask about Peter's activities. Megan (again) spills everything by saying, "If you really want to know, Peter is putting a case together - and he should because as awful as this business is with your hands, what you and Taylor did is worse." Michael plays hurt that she's "going over to Peter's side" and Megan, for the third time this episode, says "I am not siding with anyone." Continuing to tell all, she informs Michael that Peter was on the computer searching for Michael's prescription records. Michael gets upset and asks Megan to delete all of his records. When she refuses, he wraps his arms around one of hers and pleads with her to destroy all his records. A doctor and nurse rush over to sedate him and wheel him down the hall, while he continues to cry to Megan "No backups!" Megan walks out to Jennifer in the lobby and growls, "Don't ever lie to me again," and the scene fades with me fairly assured Jennifer will, indeed, lie to Megan again numerous times to come.
Kyle is doing his books in a back room at Upstairs when Amanda comes in to say she's going home. Kyle tells her about a twenty percent increase in business over last week but she's unresponsive. Kyle asks her about it and says he hopes Amanda has rethought evicting Taylor. "She broke up with Peter, she moved into the building, so what?" Amanda replies with "So she's pregnant." Kyle takes a moment to absorb this and then continues on about how he doesn't care at all about Taylor. This seems to be the answer Amanda wants, and she rewards Kyle with a key to her apartment so he doesn't have to wake her up when he gets home. A key - that's almost like a commitment - and so I now see gloom on their horizon.
Jennifer is coming home late as Craig is sorting through Sydney's mail. She offers to help him sorting out the mail, and Craig asks her how come she is there every time he turns around. Jennifer replies, "Well I work at the jazz club which you frequent and we're neighbors. Chances are pretty good we're gonna be running into each other." She asks him how much he's had to drink. He turns to her and says, "Why don't you just go to hell." Craig goes back into his apartment, and soon after Jennifer pounds on the door. Craig answers and Jennifer starts into him saying "You have got a lot of nerve, you know that? Okay, I'm sorry about your wife, but it doesn't give you the right to be rude to people. I was just trying to help." Craig pretends to be manly by saying, "Well I don't want it, okay?" but the alcohol and Jennifer's anger have castrated him and he's got to listen to Jennifer rant a bit longer. She yells on, starting with "Then just say you don't want help, don't tell me to go to hell" and ending with the "You-Don't-Have-A-Monopoly-On-Pain" speech. Craig, now turned into the girly man he is at heart, confides in Jennifer that he would have been on his honeymoon right now had Sydney lived. He goes on saying that he only made love to Sydney a handful of times, and on their last night together - the night before their wedding - Craig slept on the couch because Sydney wanted the honeymoon to be special (because, you know, going one night without sex will make it seem like your first time all over again). Craig continues, "No one could ever be Sydney" (and with her wardrobe, would anyone *want* to be?) then cries, "I just want to hold her in my arms again." Jennifer says "you can" and straddles Craig on the sofa, shoving her tongue down his throat. Craig doesn't reject her advances and I'm wondering if the writers forgot they already did the "replace the dead wife" story line last season with Taylor and Peter.
Speaking of Taylor, we find her at Kyle's (the restaurant, not his apartment) having a drink at the bar. Kyle takes the wine from her and leads her by the arm, like a five year old, into the kitchen. Taylor is confused about what is going on, but Kyle says, "I don't care how depressed you are, I am not going to let you jeopardize that baby." Taylor is shocked Kyle knows about the pregnancy, but before Taylor can really respond, Kyle continues on. "That's what I can't figure. He finds out you're pregnant and then throws you out." Taylor just plays along trying to figure out how this can work to her advantage when it clicks. The click must have been audible too, because Kyle says "There's something else, isn't there?" Taylor then says Peter was right to throw her out because the baby isn't Peter's, it's Kyle's.
We return to Craig's apartment, only now it's morning. Jennifer is waking up in Craig's bed and, again, it's Peter and Taylor all over again: she's smiling, he's pissed. Craig, his manliness restored by the night's activities, simply says, "It didn't happen." Jennifer tries to say quite a few things happened, but Craig replies, "This is not the beginning of something, this is the end. Last night was about missing Sydney and being drunk, and hurting, and wanting her back. You could never be Sydney." No, but she's the most promising prospect we have in the new cast, in my opinion. "You just needed a warm body," Jennifer says and Craig confirms it. Jennifer finishes by saying, "Now it's my turn to say it: Go to hell, Craig" and she slips on her dress proving what her jogging outfit implied - this woman wears no underwear. Jennifer leaves Craig's apartment to see Billy swimming laps. Billy asks what the yelling was all about and Jennifer replies, "Step One in a very long and involved plan, and if you must know it went beautifully." That line increases my esteem for Jennifer that she knew exactly what she was doing with Craig, but then lowered my esteem again because, didn't she learn earlier that anything said in the courtyard is fair game? Well, if anyone *did* hear her, there were no lingering close-ups to prove it.
Well, Peter's visit to Taylor's apartment to remove any excuses for her to visit his condo failed miserably. Taylor knocks on Peter's door until he opens it. "I know you told me to stay away from you -" she starts, but he cuts her off saying, "And I meant it!" and slams the door in her face. She then starts running door to door around the condo trying to tell Peter she has good news, but Peter only threatens to call the police. Only when Taylor mentions Amanda does she capture Peter's attention. She excitedly tells him, "I'm pregnant again" only this time the story is that it's Kyle baby and not Peter's. As she launches into the details of her evil scheme she tells Peter, "You've got to look at this from my perspective" to which Peter replies, "I can't - I'm not that crazy". Still, he listens as she tells him the concern Kyle showed her over "his baby" is the first sign of hope from a man she's had in a really long time (wow, how quickly some women forget diamond rings after being left at the altar). Peter recommends that she should take some time off from men, and Taylor agrees saying she would have had this not jumped into her lap. Peter then asks how Kyle can possibly think the child isn't Peter's, so Taylor explains that she told Kyle Peter was sterile and, therefore, could not possibly be the father. His masculinity threatened, Peter goes to the phone to tell Kyle he's not sterile (not to tell Kyle that Taylor's not pregnant, just to tell Kyle that Peter's not sterile... yeah, that'll help) but Taylor stops him by finally bringing him personal motivation. She tells Peter that Amanda is the love of his life, that he wants Amanda back, that she wants Kyle back, and all he has to do is go along with her story to make it all happen. "And tell them that I'm sterile," Peter adds, and I'm thinking he and Craig should go have beers and cry about their respective emasculations. Taylor continues on saying, "I don't want this to sound like blackmail, Peter, but if you don't do this for me and, say, someone like the police come and ask me questions about what you did to Michael, and what you were going to do to me up on that lighthouse..." Peter responds with all he has left by reminding Taylor she's not really pregnant. "In schemes such as these I always figure it's one step at a time," she smugly replies. "At least that's what Michael taught me. He has a gift for this, you know." So THAT'S how the Taylor/Peter and Jennifer/Craig stories differ. Taylor was one step at a time and Jennifer is looking 3 moves ahead. Taylor leaves Peter purring, "Remember, when it works out, we both get what we want."
Jennifer has gone to visit Michael in the hospital and is talking to Coop. Coop asks if Megan will be visiting, to which Jennifer responds by telling Coop all of Michael's relationship problems (Jennifer's obviously been rooming with Megan too long, she's forgotten what a secret is and what discretion means). "Michael has this knack of swallowing up a woman's individuality, then turning her into a pawn in his hair-brained plots. In truth Megan was the first one who stood up to him." Coop, not knowing that you should keep evil plots to yourself, replies "and survived" under his breath. Jennifer, hearing this, says, "My knack is the ability to sniff out people with ulterior motives. What's yours, doctor?" Coop replies only by saying "Michael's the boss" and that Coop wants to stay on Michael's good side. Actually, what Coop is saying is "I will kiss his butt any way I have to." They go into Michael's recovery room to find the bed empty and the Mary Poppins wannabe nurse from 2 seasons ago on the phone. Instead of rejoicing at finding another castmember who's been around for more than 2 episodes, Coop and Jennifer panic and ask where Michael is. The nurse says Michael just "disappeared into thin air" and she's calling security but if she's like most hospital nurses I know, Michael's been gone hours, no one noticed him leaving, and the nurse took this opportunity to call her sister in Detroit.
And where exactly IS Michael? Sure enough, he's is in his office deleting all his files from the computer. Peter comes in and calmly watches as Michael deletes the last of the records. "I've deleted every file, every shred of evidence", Michael tells his partner. "Now it's your word against mine... You cry drug induced, I cry attempted murder." I guess pharmacies in L.A. don't keep records of which doctors ordered prescriptions filled. Either way, Peter says he's already cracked Michael's password: "C.O.S. Chief of Staff. Not very original." Peter then reaches into his pocket and pulls out a floppy disk with a CompuServe On-Line label on it and says "You know what, Michael? I'm gonna bury your butt with this." Michael knocks the CompuServe disk from Peter's hands and a struggle ensues. Relax, guys, you can BOTH sign-up on-line with the same disk. Oh, I get it - the disk has Michael's prescription records on it. I guess the prop-master and I are on the same on-line mailing lists for free floppies. Michael, bandaged hands and all, successfully wrestles the disk from Peter thanks to assistance from Megan who, just trying to break up the fight, grabs Peter from behind. Michael takes the disk and throws it into the microwave oven, causing the microwave to fry and take the disk with it. Peter, having made no back-ups, leaves angrily. Megan notices Michael's newly post-op hands are bleeding and leads him back to the hospital.
Later that night, Kyle is cuddled next to Amanda who just can't leave well enough alone. "Not that it wasn't incredible," she says, "but outside of 'I've gotta have you' you haven't said two words tonight." Kyle realizes he's been caught so he starts right in kissing ass. "Not only are you intelligent and beautiful, you come equipped with radar." He then proceeds to tell Amanda that Taylor's baby is his, not Peter's. Amanda can't believe her ears and, once again wrapped in the leopard spotted blanket she goes outside and down to Taylor's apartment. Kyle, slightly more modest, grabs some pants and follows.
Amanda knocks furiously on Taylor's door and says, "One, I don't believe you're pregnant. Two, I know it's not Kyle's, and Three, I'm going to expose you." Um... One, if she's not pregnant than it's not Kyle's... or anyone else's, and Two, if someone grabs and yanks that blanket, it's not Taylor who will be exposed. Taylor sticks to her lies, which upsets Amanda more. Taylor slips into the "I can't get upset, the doctor warned me," bit, which calls Kyle to her aid. Standing between Amanda and Taylor he keeps telling Amanda to calm down. Amanda demands that paternity tests be done and Taylor willingly responds with, "I'll take any tests that Kyle wants, all he has to do is ask. And Kyle, maybe you should tell Amanda what you promised me: that you would be supportive throughout my ordeal." Kyle pulls Amanda away from Taylor's door and says, "Look, if that child is mine, I'm not going to desert it." As payment for his responsible attitude, Amanda says, "I think you should sleep at your own place tonight."
Out at the beach house Megan has given Michael a ride home from the hospital where Michael asks Megan to help him open the sliding door. So... he can wrestle for a disk, use a computer and operate a microwave oven, but not open a sliding door? Apparently this makes sense to Megan as she complies and Michael wanders out onto the back deck. "This air will help me heal faster than anything," Michael says turning to Megan, "Except maybe having you by my side." Megan says she only drove him home because she's a loyal employee. Michael tries one more time and Megan says "This is just pointless. I've got to go." Michael chases her out to the car, asking for a ride back to the hospital. The meeting with the board is this afternoon, but Megan refuses to drive him saying if he wants to doom both he and Peter, then he'll have to call a cab. She then drives off leaving me to wonder how the sliding door will ever get closed.
Amanda goes to Peter's office and confronts him with Taylor's story, and asks if Peter is "shooting blanks." Peter pauses, flushes his manhood away, and says he is indeed sterile because of a bout of mumps he had as a child and that he never told Amanda because they never discussed having children (now... if they DO get back together, what he'll say when she gets pregnant is beyond me. Somehow I don't think she'll buy the "It's a miracle!!!" line). Peter and Amanda get into slight banter about their relationship, which obviously makes Amanda uncomfortable so she informs Peter, "I'm leaving now." Peter replies with, "Since when did you have to ask permission?" and as soon as she leaves, he calls Taylor at work to tell her he's going along with her plan. Taylor is excited, but Peter reminds her, "Your little story has no chance unless you're actually pregnant, and don't come to me. I'm sterile, remember?" and he hangs up. At that moment, Kyle comes in to the restaurant and sees the disturbed look on Taylor's face. He asks Taylor if she's okay and Taylor replies she's having morning sickness in the afternoon. Kyle offers to help in any way he can, but Taylor pushes one step too far by saying, "I just wish this wasn't causing so much friction between you and Amanda." Kyle, sensing a trap, says the pregnancy has nothing to do with his relationship with Amanda, and, "If you want any support from me, any support at all, you better not try to use this pregnancy." When Taylor asks how he could think something like that, he says, "Because I used to be married to you" and goes Upstairs.
At Sky High, Craig's advertising company (which looks a LOT like the D&D set painted baby blue), Sam has come to pay Craig a visit. Craig, not seeing Sam but just staring at the watch Sydney gave him as a wedding gift, says "Go away." When Sam announces it's her, Craig says, "You especially. Get out. Didn't I make it clear at the funeral?" Samantha tries to explain she never wanted to hurt Sydney and that she's also in pain, reliving the accident in nightmares. Craig stands, glaring at her, telling her that his dreams aren't of the accident but of the honeymoon he and Sydney will never have. He then shouts "get out" until Samantha takes the hint and finally leaves. Running out, she yells "This was a mistake" to Billy who runs after her a few paces, and then just stands, dumbfounded, and possibly even more dense than Samantha.
Spaghetti Western music plays as Peter and Michael stare each other down in a hospital hallway, each with their folders of evidence tucked under their arms. They enter the conference room to find Megan sitting there by herself and not the Board of Directors as they expected. Megan informs them she cancelled the meeting because the Board is unaware of the problems Peter and Michael are having and because she's trying to save Burns-Mancini. "You both have acted like insane, egocentric, overly-ambitious idiots," Megan says to which Michael replies, "And what if that's what we are, huh? Have you ever thought about that?" Megan continues down her checklist of "facts" showing Peter and Michael how they are both in the wrong. Finally, she leaves them with two options: (1) Michael gives Peter the Chief of Staff job back and Peter keeps Michael on as partner in the medical firm until Michael can operate again, or (2) Megan will turn them both in for their various legal infractions and "we'll all go up in flames." Backed into a corner, the doctors agree.
Upstairs, Billy is whining to Amanda about Craig's management technique (what... sitting in your office staring at a pocket watch isn't the fast track to success? DAMN, now I need to change my entire work ethic). Amanda gets in the prerequisite I-told-you-so's before Billy tells Amanda his plan: an unfriendly takeover of Sky High Advertising, where all Amanda's old employees will walk, usurping Craig, and Amanda could start her own agency. After a little ass-kissing on Billy's part, Amanda demands all of Sky High's financial data and then she'll think about it. As Billy leaves, Amanda goes over to Kyle at the bar. She tells Kyle about Billy's request that she start her own ad agency; Kyle tells Amanda she should go for it and "make all her dreams come true." She says it's easy for him to say that - his dream came true; he owns the jazz club. Kyle replies Upstairs is only one of his dreams. He says, "I still have a much more important and far riskier one: That you will be with me forever and that you will trust me when I say that I'll be there with you forever. I've gotta tell ya, I've never been so in love with anyone my whole life." Amanda brings up the fact it's the first time he has told her he loves her so he says it again. Amanda looks up into his eyes and replies, "I love you too." They go to the dance floor to dance and I notice Amanda's dress is leopard spotted - he must have liked wearing the blanket as a wraparound so much she had it made into a dress.
Coop is making a house call at Michael's beach house (I can only assume Coop closed the sliding door) to check on Michael's hands. He compliments Michael's beach house and Michael tells Coop to get a place like it. Coop confides that he is hiding his assets because his ex-wife has "launched a one-woman campaign to bleed me dry." Michael asks, "What'd she get ya on?" which, I imagine, is the divorced man's equivalent of "What're you in for?" Coop replies, "Infidelity." Michael, feeling he's found a comrade, mentions that his and Peter's medical practice would be a great place for Coop to hide his money. Coop expresses interest and Michael says he'll think about it. There's a knock on the door and as Coop exits, Taylor enters. Pulling the same blackmail scheme on Michael that she used on Peter, she gets Michael to agree to help her secretly find a sperm bank with the "right model" sperm but Michael needs to make the withdrawal for her so it cannot be traced (never mind the fact that this baby's gestation period will end up being 11-12 months). Having gotten Michael to agree, she pats him on the back and is out the door.
Peter is sitting at the bar at Kyle's when Amanda walks by with the business' ledgers strategically placed in front of her stomach (note all the ways the director is trying to hide Heather Locklear's pregnancy - first the blanket and now this). Peter comments how Amanda has always had a good head for business so she tells him she's thinking of opening her own ad agency. "The only way I can swing it," she says, "is if I go small." Peter agrees that this is, indeed, a problem since there's no point in starting a business unless you're going to be "the biggest and the best". He tells her he's always loved her "Take No Prisoners" attitude but then hints perhaps she's "recently developed a fear of failure". Amanda's smile fades as she replies, "For a minute I thought you developed a personality, but I see it's just the booze talking." Peter keeps his cool as he informs her he's drinking water which she should have known because, after all, the only reason single doctors go to bars in the first place is to drink WATER. He continues his passive-aggressive attack by stating, "Why piddle around with a small ad agency when you're destined to build an empire?" Amanda says flatly, "Goodnight Peter" and walks away while Peter, obviously pleased with himself, waits for her to get out of earshot before mumbling, "Goodnight."
At the Upstairs bar, Craig downs a shot and asks Jennifer for another. Jennifer says she's cutting him off. He says he's only had one drink but she says, "One drink leads to another and, before you know it..." She trails off but Craig picks up with, "What? I'll drink myself to death? Not to worry, kid. I'm already dead." He pays his tab and leaves. Now that Craig is clearly headed for the door, Kyle comes over to make sure everything is all right. Jennifer assures him everything is fine but Kyle tells her he'll be in the back if anyone needs him - you know, just in case you need him to come watch some other drunk bozo leave the bar.
A short while later, Craig sits waiting in his car outside 4616. Sam pulls up in her car which, despite the fact it drove through a bus stop AND a bride just last week, miraculously has not one single scratch or dent in it. As she gets out and begins crossing the street to enter the courtyard, Craig mutters, "Now you're gonna die the same way Sydney did" as he starts his engine and speeds his car at Sam (didn't we do this one too with Kimberly/Michael back in 94?). Sam turns in shock, but Craig slams on the brakes only inches away from hitting her. Stunned, Sam stumbles to the curve. Craig gets out of the car, says "I'm sorry" and walks over to see if she's okay. Mutual self-abuse and self-blame ensues - Sam taking the blame for Sydney's death saying "I killed her" and Craig taking blame saying "I didn't save her." Sam comforts Craig saying there's nothing he could have done. They have a 90210 moment and hug as Sam says, "We have to stop this - both of us."

Michael tells Coop his plan to "push Peter out" so Michael and Coop can have their own practice; Peter tries using money to get Amanda into bed with him; Amanda enlists the help of Eric to get her new business started and then lies to Kyle about the phone call; Taylor tells Michael she "needs his sperm" as she rips off her clothes and jumps on top of him.
"Trojan Stork"
This week's episode starts off with Megan swimming the backstroke in the pool at 4616. The pool is awfully clean, the presents Craig threw in last week have been skimmed out, but yet Pool Boy is no where to be seen. I'm wondering if we've been fooled for 5 years and Matt DID have a boyfriend and Pool Boy moved to San Francisco with Matt and Chelsea. The network execs probably wouldn't let that be aired either.
