Characters

  • Andrews, Sydney Quirky sister of Jane Mancini. Had several different professions, including stripper, prostitute, waitress, boutique owner and advertising exec. She was married and divorced from Michael Mancini and married to Craig Field. Was killed by runaway car driven by Samantha Reilly.

  • Armstrong-Campbell, Brooke a.k.a. "Demon Enchantress". Spoiled princess daughter of millionaire Hayley Armstrong, worked in advertising at D&D. Married to Billy Campbell. Died after slipping and hitting her head in the pool.

  • Armstrong, Hayley Wealthy and charming millionaire, father of Brooke. Owned advertising company in Hong Kong where Alison Parker worked. Married and divorced Alison, died in drowning accident.

  • "B-Ball Brothers" - Nickname for Kyle and Ryan due to their passion for playing basketball.

  • Barnett, Alycia A lawyer whose clients included Matt Fielding and Bobby Parezi. Became owner of cable company shortly before her death in a car accident.

  • Bastian , Alex a.k.a. "Malibu Alex". A famous clothing designer, and college classmate of Jane and Michael. Had one night stand with Jane before her first marriage to Michael. As far as we know, he has never been married.

  • Baylor, Jeff a.k.a. "Baseball Boy". Arrogant minor-league baseball player who had promise of "making it" until a knee injury took him out of the game for good. Appeared as spokesperson for AWA client. Became engaged to Samantha Riley Campbell.

  • Blair, Rhonda
  • The only African-American lead character on the show, Rhonda only lasted one season. Engaged to Terrence Haggart.

  • Blake, Rory a.k.a. "Munster-Man" because of his striking resemblance to Eddie Munster. Slimy con-man who was once friends with Coop and Lexi. Married Amanda then tried to kill her. Died during fight with Kyle.

  • Burns, Peter a.k.a "Dr. Love", "Dr. Smooth". A doctor and on-and-off Chief of Staff at Wilshire Memorial. He has been married to Beth Davis, Amanda Woodward, and Eve Cleary.

  • Campbell, Billy a.k.a. "Puffboy" because he's full of hot air and is feared by no one and "Billstud" for his brief stint as a ruthless ad executive shortly after Brooke's death. He almost married Alison and has been married to Brooke and Samantha. Engaged to Jennifer Mancini when they moved to Rome.

  • Cleary, Eve a.k.a. "Alien Eve", "RuEve", "Jailbird" and "Psycho Cheerleader". High school cheerleader friend of Amanda's. Went to prison for pushing Kent, the captain of the football team, off the bleacher and to his death. Now is a singer/club owner. Married Peter Burns.

  • Cooper, Brett "Coop" A former Wilshire Memorial doctor and brief partner in the Burns-Mancini practice. Married twice to Lexi, engaged to Megan.

  • Demarr, Kent a.k.a. "Klod". Ex-boyfriend of both Eve and Amanda. Killed by Amanda (although Eve was convicted of the crime).

  • Field, Craig Son of D&D CEO Arthur Field, got into advertising business by inheritance as opposed to experience or talent. Married to Sydney for about 10 minutes. Died of a suicide.

  • Fielding, Matt The token homosexual who never got an on-screen kiss. Worked as a social worker for Wilshire Memorial before returning to med school to become a doctor. Married briefly to Katya Petrova. Legal guardian of niece Chelsea.

  • Hanson, Jake A mechanic and then a bar-owner, Jake was best known for being a rebel and a ladies man. Married to Alison, father to David (by ex-girlfriend Colleen).

  • Hanson, Jess Brother to Jake Hanson, married to Shelley Hanson. Best known for bad acting and beating up women. Died after falling off construction scaffolding.

  • Hanson, Shelly Wife of Jess Hanson. Went to prison after embezzling from Shooters.

  • Harling, Sandy Louise Aspiring actress. Never married.

  • Hart, Richard a.k.a. "Zombie Richard" because he was buried alive by Jane and Sydney. Fashion guru, co-owned company with Mackenzie Hart and then Jane Mancini. Married to Mackenzie Hart (deceased), briefly engaged to Jane Mancini. Raped Jane, died after being shot by a park ranger.

  • Hobbes, (First name unknown) a.k.a "Dr. Homophobe", "Dr. Bigot". Former Chief Of Staff at Wilshire Memorial, fired Matt Fielding for his homosexuality. Was countersued and lost his job. Marital status unknown.

  • Larner, George a.k.a. "George BigCheese" and "Dr. Lamer". Head of hospital in Philadelphia where Coop transferred to. Tried to rape Megan. Married.

  • "Lenny & Squiggy" - Nickname for Peter and Michael due to their uncanny ability to walk into any crowded room and say, "Hello!" in unison as if they were attached at the hip.

  • Lewis, Megan a.k.a. "Hooker Girl" and "Clueless Lewis". An ex-hooker, receptionist, ad exec, and cocktail waitress, she is again an ad exec. She has been married to Michael Mancini and Ryan McBride.

  • "Lightswitch Couple" - Nickname for Ryan and Megan due to the fact their combined IQ is equal to that of a can of Spam.

  • McBride, Kyle a.k.a. "G.I. D'oh", "Doy Boy" and "Marine Boy". Kyle is a chef extraordinaire who owns Kyle's Restaurant and The Upstairs, which was originally a jazz club and now has all types of terrible music. He has been married to Taylor McBride and Amanda Woodward.

  • McBride, Matt a.k.a. "Papa Smurf McBride". Father of Kyle and Ryan, grandfather of Sarah.

  • McBride, Ryan a.k.a. "Caveman Thor", "Wet-Baby-Lip-Boy", "Wet-Lips", "Baby-Lips", and several other variations of the same thing, due to his puffy, pouty, and moist-looking mouth. He is a phenomenal number cruncher who used to work on Wall Street and left because of corruption and the evil that money brings. Was married to Callie McBride and Megan Lewis and is father to Sarah McBride.

  • McBride, Sarah a.k.a. "Demonia" or "Satan's Spawn". Ryan's ten year old daughter.

  • McBride, Taylor a.k.a. "Inflate-O-Lips", "Lip-Girl", "Lizard Lips", "WonderLips" and several other variations of the same thing, due to her enormous, collagen-enhanced lips. Was married to Kyle McBride and briefly engaged to Peter Burns. Got pregnant by Michael Mancini, gave birth to Mikey, Jr. and left town with her baby.

  • Mancini , Jane a.k.a. "Lawnmower Hair" due to her uneven, super-short hairstyle in Season 4 and "Doormat" because of her codependent nature. A clothing designer, then clothing shop owner, then advertising agent, then flower shop manager. She has been married to Michael Mancini.

  • Mancini, Jennifer Sister to Michael Mancini. College dropout, professional cocktail waitress and bartender. Had affair with Kyle in Boston. Engaged to Billy Campbell.

  • Mancini, Mia a.k.a. "Mama Rhoda" or "Rhoda Mom" due to the fact she's portrayed by the same actress who played "Rhoda" (Valerie Harper). Overbearing mother of Michael and Jennifer Mancini.

  • Mancini , Michael a.k.a. "Beer Nuts" and "Dr. Glue Sniffer" due to his obvious lack of common sense. A doctor and on-an-off Chief of Staff at Wilshire Memorial. He has been married to Jane Mancini (twice), Sydney Andrews, Kimberly Shaw, and Megan Lewis and engaged to Lexi Sterling.

  • Marlin, Tony a.k.a. "The Fish", "Fish Boy" and "Fish-Bait" due to his last name and his swarmy personality. Owned a cruise line, died while having sex with Lexi.

  • Nurse Amy a.k.a. "Mary Poppins" due to her overly positive, Pollyannish attitude. A nurse at Wilshire Memorial, she spent most seasons in the background spouting out the occasional line. Marital status unknown.

  • O'Brien, Terry a.k.a. "Treacherous Terry", "Aunt Baywatch" and "Darth Terry". Sister of Callie McBride, who died in a car crash with Ryan McBride, aunt to Sarah McBride. Teaches at St. Agnes boarding school in Poughkeepsie, NY.

  • Parker, Alison An advertising executive for D&D and then waitress at Shooters. Engaged to Billy Campbell, married to Hayley Armstrong and Jake Hanson.

  • Parezi, Bobby a.k.a. "Lughead" and "Mr. Mook". The only member of the Parezi family who strived to make an honest living. Former boyfriend of Amanda, he came to LA to carry out a "hit" on her but couldn't. Brother to Jack Parezi, Amanda's former husband. Died after being hit by Alycia and flying out the window of Peter's office. Never married to the best of our knowledge.

  • Parezi, Jack Former husband of Amanda's. Dealt mostly in shady "family business" deals. Abused Amanda. Died after falling off his balcony.

  • Reilly, Samantha A fashion boutique assistant, then a grocery store clerk and finally an advertising graphic artist for AWA. Married to Billy Campbell. Engaged to Jeff Baylor.

  • Reynolds, Jo Beth "Jo" Professional photographer. Mother of baby boy fathered by Reed Carter and put up for adoption. Married to Charles Reynolds and Dominick O'Malley.

  • Ross, Alan a.k.a. "Rude Boy". Actor on daytime soap opera and ex-boyfriend of Matt Fielding. Married Valerie, his lesbian co-star, as part of a PR stunt.

  • Schulman, Irene a.k.a. "Dr. Bitch", "Ice Princess". A neurosurgeon at Wilshire Memorial, she has gone head to head with both Peter and Michael for several years. Dated Dr. Visconti.

  • Shaw, Kimberly a.k.a. "Zipperhead" due to the hideous scar on her head after her near-fatal car accident with Michael. Had several occupations including Wilshire Memorial doctor, radio DJ, Burns-Mancini receptionist and psychotherapist. Married to Michael Mancini. Died of brain aneurysm.

  • Sterling, Lexi a.k.a. "Mood Hair Woman", due to her continually changing shades of hair color, the "Empress of Evil", due to her nasty plots to bring down other characters and "Junkie Girl" due to her addiction to Valium. She is the CEO of Sterling-Conway Enterprises, and current owner of the Melrose Place apartment building. She has been married twice to Brett Cooper (Coop) and engaged to Michael Mancini.

  • Sterling, Tom a.k.a. "Daddy Warbutts" and "Psycho Dad". A successful tycoon and father of Lexi Sterling. Died of a stroke and left clause in his will stating his daughter would get $10 million if she remarried Coop.

  • Visconti, Louis a.k.a. "Dr. Wet Blanket", "Dr. Puddles", "Dr. Pinhead". A psychiatrist at Wilshire Memorial, his character stayed primarily in the background until Season 7. Dated Irene Schulman.

  • Woodward, Amanda a.k.a. the "Queen of the Jungle", due to her recently replaced set of leopard spotted sheets and her royal attitude among the other peons of Melrosia. Amanda is the owner, president, and CEO of Amanda Woodward Advertising (AWA), previously D&D Advertising, and past owner of the Melrose Place apartment building. She has been married to Jack Parezi, Peter Burns, Kyle McBride, Rory Blake, and Kyle again.

  • Christine a.k.a. "Mecha Christine" and "Christine-Not" since she turned out to be an imposter. Actual identity was Tiffany, girlfriend to Nick Reardon who is Kyle's ex-Marine buddy. Died after being tackled by Nick and hitting her head on a car, her body was placed on railroad tracks to make her death look like a suicide.

  • Travis a.k.a. "Sleazy Tree Man" and "Patrol Guy". Former guard at prison where Eve did her sentence, he turned up as a Christmas Tree salesman who wanted to sleep with Eve. Later cleaned up his act and returned as an LA Patrolman. Marital status unknown.
