![]() Stacie Creator and Editor-In-Chief, Graphic Designer tishalook.com
Stacie, a.k.a. "Moj", is 30-something, single, and lives in Atlanta, Georgia with
her 4 cats where she does freelance graphics and web page design. She
is also a musician/singer/songwriter and artist and hopes to one day find
a life.
Stacie's favorite Melrose Place characters are Sydney ("she had the best lines,
the greatest scenes and only she could get away with that wardrobe!") and Kimberly
("Marcia Cross is just such an amazingly talented actress - only she could pull off
the highly implausible storyline of blowing up a building and becoming a psychiatrist
three months later.") Stacie's favorite MP storyline is "practically all of Season
Four -- Kimberly's bomb, the aftermath that followed, Matt getting framed for murder
where he got to show some emotional diversity for a change, the Parezi's, Brooke -- the
list is endless." When asked why she watched the show, Stacie replies, "It was such
a wonderfully entertaining show, full of camp and cheese. There is definitely no
other show quite like it."
![]() Ken Hart Special Guest Synopsis Writer
Ken, known for his long-running Melrose
Place Recaps, is 38, married, and lives in Brookline, MA with his wife Judy and their 2 cats, Mrs. Peel and Sassy. He's the
Senior Editor for the Wild Wild Web TV Site and
enjoys B-movies, fencing, role-playing games and horror fiction. In addition, he says, "I've
also always liked the Forever Knight TV series."
Ken's favorite MP character was Sydney because, "She delightfully launched one blackmail
scheme after another, blissfully unconcerned about silly things like ethics. The show needed
her to balance the non-stop angst." He adds, "My second favorite character was Jake's desk
at Shooter's. It saw more action than the Playboy Mansion." His favorite MP storyline is,
"Kimberly's baby-napping scheme! I loved the ridiculous Mary Poppins spy and the
grandmother's promise to give Jo's baby Austin 'a real name'." When asked why he watches
the show, Ken replies, "Why do I watch MP? Right now it must be masochism.
But I’m still loyal to the show that got me and my Recaps site in TIME magazine!
Ah, if they would only resurrect Kimberly again to spice things up..."
![]() zinc Head Writer, Assistant Editor
zinc is 31, single and living in Chicago with a SO as well as a whippet named Devo
and a love bird named Titus Andronicus. By day, zinc is a technical writer.
zinc's favorite MP character is Peter because "he is a completely crazed psycho
who goes from being 'the guy next door' to trying to ruin Amanda's career or
kill her. After all he has done to destroy her, he still thinks he has a chance, and
the Melrose folks have attention deficit disorders so they forget about his wielding
a hypodermic needle at her in an attempt to kill her. What a lucky guy!" zinc's
favorite MP storyline is "when Peter and that actress from 'A Different World' were
plotting against Amanda. Then again, the Kimberly plots were always amusing..." When
asked, "Why do you watch the show?" zinc replied, "Must be a habit. I've been
watching since day one and I just find myself in front of the tube every Monday.
Go figure."
![]() Ellen Synopsis Writer
Ellen is 28, newly-married and lives in Thomaston, Georgia with her large black cat Akbar.
She recently graduated and now has her PhD in Developmental Psychology. So, obviously, she's
been quite busy. "But when I get a life," she says, "I plan to make my own clothes, write
mystery novels and refinish furniture."
Ellen's favorite character on the show is Peter Burns because "Jack Wagner seems to
have so much fun with the part - he really seems to appreciate the high camp of the
show." She also enjoys any scene involving Michael and Taylor "because their chemistry
is great." Her favorite storyline is "the whole 'Kimberly's multiple personality' storyline,
particularly when Kimberly/Betsy kidnapped Peter and was planning to give him a lobotomy."
Another favorite is "when Syd gave Jane a stroke after spiking her drink" although Ellen
says it deserved more of a "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" treatment. Finally, when asked
why she watches the show, Ellen replies, "Partly because my own life is so agonizingly dull,
partly because I enjoy the bad acting and cheesy plots and dialogue." She adds, "Actually,
those two are related."
![]() Anthony Ventarola Synopsis Writer Web page: Vent Man Web Pages
Anthony, a.k.a. "The Vent Man", is 29, single and living in the Bronx, NY where he's a Transportation Project Engineer for
the Westchester County Department Public Works (that must be hell to fit on a business card!). His hobbies include baseball,
computer networks, politics ("I'm a libertarian," he says), racquetball, bicycling, club-hopping, alternative and hard rock,
guitar playing and travel ("Dallas rules").
Vent Man's favorite character is Megan because "she is a five-tool human being: professional, responsible and intelligent,
while at the same time sexy and passionate. She is the most level headed person on the show. Despite her past, amazingly she
still qualifies as a girl I wouldn't mind bringing home to Mom. Careful around Dad, though." :) His favorite storyline is the one
about Amanda, her ex-husband John Parezi and her ex-boyfriend Bobby Parezi. Anthony says, "It was like my East Coast (the mob)
met the West Coast - and the West won." When asked why he watches the show, Anthony replies, "To see what these characters can
humanly get away and still consort with each other."
![]() Paul Baker Synopsis Writer Web page: Plastic-Injected MP Pages
Paul is 26 and describes his marital status as, "Always a bride, never a bridesmaid." He
lives in England with his cat and works in Research. Paul also has an online magazine
called "Handbag" which is "dedicated to the 55-year old woman called Edna who lives inside
all of us." He's also writing a thesis linking language to gay identity and loves 60s
French pop music. Paul's favorite author is Jackie Susann ("Valley Of The Dolls") and he
loves films where Bette Davis gets to be a bitch. He adds, "God, that makes me sound like
such a stereotypical 50s cardigan-queen!"
Paul's favorite Melrose character is Syd because, "we have similar world-views. I can
empathise with her moral descent, unrequited crushes, her fashion sense and harsh one-liners.
When she died - it really was like the proverbial light going out forever." His favorite
storyline is when Kimberly attended Camp No More Victims. Says Paul, "I loved how she
hallucinated the other female members of the cast torturing her and calling her smelly
and a bitch. Even though she's probably done the most evil things on the show throughout
her stint, she's still the one who elicits the most sympathy from me." When asked why
he watches Melrose Place, Paul replies, "I used to hate it - until I discovered
[the Usenet newsgroup] alt.tv.melrose-place and realized that most people there were
watching it ironically. I gave it a go, and for the first three weeks couldn't tell any
of the men apart, or any of the women apart. Then Kimberly had a vision of Henry in a
mirror and collapsed into a corner shrieking "I'm not crazy, no, no, no, no, no" and I
realized what all the fuss was about."
![]() Stan News Reporter Web page: The Place
Stan is 36, single and living in Los Angeles where he works as an actor and stuntman.
In his spare time he enjoys martial arts.
Stan's favorite MP character is Sydney "because she was so stupid it was funny".
His favorite episode was "Alison in Hong Kong because I worked in one of those
episodes". When asked why he watches the show, Stan replies, "Because it's so bad
that it's good."
![]() Deirdre Contributing Columnist
Deirdre, a.k.a. "Kitten With A Whip", is 30 and "happily married to a man who watches Melrose with me
voluntarily". She lives in Seattle where she's a receptionist for Burns/Mancini. In her
spare time she enjoys collecting vintage clothing, go-go dancing and drinking martinis
("sometimes all at once!")
Deirdre's favorite MP character is Michael Mancini because "he is the most entertaining and
gets all the best and funniest lines". The storylines she enjoyed most were "any storyline
that involved Michael, Kimberly and Sydney. They had the best chemistry and the storylines
always managed to shock me." When asked why she watches Melrose Place, Deirdre responded,
"It's been one of my favorite things in the world since 1993. Where else can a character
taking her wig off cause you to spill your drink?"
![]() Weasel Boy Contributing Columnist Web page: Orange Alert Home Page
"Weasel Boy", a.k.a. Jason, is 29 and lives with his boyfriend Carlo and
their dog Dudley in Toronto, Canada. He is a composer, playwrite, producer,
keyboardist, columnist, web page designer, and "all around stressed-out
guy". Weasel has written 2 hit singles for Canadian artist Sam Crosby and
his play "RING" was called "the surprise hit of the Rhubarb! festival" by the
"Buddies in Bad Times Theater". His band "plasticpalacepeople" hopes
to have their album "teetering on the edge of selection" in stores by next spring.
Weasel's favorite Melrose characters are Sydney and Matt and his favorite
MP storyline "so far has been Sydney in the Gun Cult". Why does he watch
Melrose Place? "It's a nice, light, relatively mindless drama I can get
lost in without having to use my brain too much. It's fun to yell "BITCH"
and "SLUT" at the screen and see the childish cat fight type stuff, but
I'll have to admit that having a gay character that's not just there for
window dressing (a la "FRIENDS") is a reason I tuned in in the first place."
![]() Dave Z. Spoiler King
Dave is 35 and lives near Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, 9-year-old stepdaughter
and their dog Rosie (a shih tzu). He is a Page Designer for the Baltimore Sun, "one of
America's newspapers", where he works primarily on the Business section.
He explains, "This, of course, is where my famed Melrose Encyclopedia come from. I
cull them off the electronic wires that pump information into our computers
24 hours a day. In reality, they're merely the program summaries that FOX
transmits to the media each week, but I'm more than happy to share them with
Melrose fans everywhere." Dave's hobbies are his computer - a Power Computing
Mac clone (PowerTower 180). He says it's "all the hobby I need".
Dave's favorite character is Amanda. "No doubt about it, Amanda Woodward is
the best thing on Melrose. Since she arrived on the scene she's been the
engine that drives the show. And as an actress, Heather Locklear dusts just
about everyone else in the cast (not saying much, but true it is). When
asked why he watches the show he replies, "I watch Melrose Place because it
is the funniest drama on television. No other show combines outlandish
plots, outrageous banter and embarrassing acting quite the way Melrose does.
What a hoot!"
