Shortly after the cancellation of Melrose Place was announced, we asked for viewers'
reactions to the announcement as well as their favorite (and least favorite) moments on
the show. The following is a list of all the responses we received - thank you to
everyone who participated!

Favorite Storyline: I have SO much in mind, but I guess both episodes "the Bing Bang theory" were the best ever!
Least Favorite Storyline: I couldn't believe they tried to join Michael & Jane again during the 7th season.
That was the worst plot they could ever think about.
And worst yet, why damn they destroy the character of Eve in the last episode???... they have NO RIGHT to do that... she was lovely!
Additional Comments: I can say MP was (and is) a part of my life, who know how much bitchiness I learnt from the show... :)

Favorite Storyline: Sydney in her "desperate for money/hooker/stripper" phase. When Sydney was a stripper for a night as "Jungle Jane" wearing a leopard suit and matching ears, while Michael, Jake, Billy and Matt(?) looked on. Never has stripping looked so wholesome.
Least Favorite Storyline: The entire Glove Storyline with Coop and Michael and Jennifer Mancini. I'd buy a glove just to choke myself.
Additional Comments: Yes--am I the only one who liked Brooke? [Editor's note: No, I thought she was great!]

Least Favorite Storyline: When Sidney joined a cult, when Jo came on the show because she couldn't act, when Micheal married the second time, when Billy married Brooke, and when Bobby Perez showed up as Amanda's long lost love.
Additional Comments: I love Melrose Place, especially Rob Estes because he is so hot!!! I don't know what I am going to do on Monday nights now

Least Favorite Storyline: Anything involving Samantha, Craig, or Kimberly's mother after Kimberly's death. Kimberly's wretched brain tumor episodes (because they could have written her out in a much better way); When Kimberly got Megan arrested for soliciting; When Alison started drinking again to push Jake away; Anytime Billy wore jeans to work; When Jo thought Sydney's friend, played horribly by Jason Priestly's sister, was a child abuser; When Peter made Taylor dress like his dead wife; When Kimberly turned into a slut (although it was fun to meet the poolboy).
Additional Comments: I never realized it before, but I really love Marcia Cross. Come back, Kimmy.

Least Favorite Storyline: I'm getting nostalgic and indulgent...but season 6 was a nightmare (please never allow Sam, Jen, Coop, Baseball players and their wannabes spoil a show like MP).
Additional Comments: Can we pretend the show stopped just before Kimberly died and start it all over again ? (Lexi can join the cast for any reason).

Also anything with Lexi, especially her rivalry with Amanda. Oh yeah and of course, anything with Sydney....wasn't she wonderful?
Least Favorite Storyline: Billy/Samantha/Jennifer/Baseball boy.....It had Billy in it. Enough said. No wonder Alyssa Milano left. Also, Jo moving in, Jo and Jake, Jo and Reed, Jo and Jake's brother, Jo and the doctor...can you tell where it's going?
Additional Comments: Watched it from day one and never missed an episode. Also have every episode taped so when I miss it, I can always relive the memories

Additional Comments: Hearing the news of MP being cancelled, is one of the saddest things that I have experienced. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Don't cancel MP!!!!!!!! Monday nights will NEVER be the same! I will be through with FOX!! This is NOT fair!!!

Favorite Storyline: The whole preface to Kimberly's bomb blast. I loved the pseudo-camp that Kimberly went to, where she beat the crap out of Mackenzie Phillips and had her bizarro version in the tent. Classic! I also thought the babynapping of little Austin was a riot.
Least Favorite Storyline: The Christine/Taylor/Nick story, according to reliable sources at the United Nations, has been added to the list of violations of the Geneva Convention.
Additional Comments: Although Billy was a terrible character (due to Andrew Shue being a terrible actor), the show just wouldn't have been as good without him! For giving me many opportunities to ridicule you, Mr. Shue, I salute you. Now stop your drooling and go away.

I can't believe that Melrose is going out. It's hard to believe that the rates have gone down. I've been a fan since the very beginning and it will be sad to see it go.
Least Favorite Storyline: When Matt got beat up by the skin heads because he is gay.
Additional Comments: I'll miss MELROSE. Is there any chance that it may be continued. Or is this it for real???

Favorite Storyline: I liked the scheming to kill Michael plot, with Kimberly & Sydney planning the whole thing, Sydney shouting when seeing Michael alive after the car-in-the-garage plan, Kimberly running Michael over, Jane being arrested, Syd arrested, and Michael's amnesia and tricking Syd he doesn't remember her. It was classic Melrose!
Least Favorite Storyline: I hated Coop on the show. He was never Melrose material and he should've stayed in Ohio. The only thing good about him is his ex-wife -- Lexi (Oh yeah!!!). I also hated it when every couple couldn't get along once married, like Peter & Amanda, Kyle & Taylor, Kyle & Amanda, Alison & Hayley, Alison & Jake, Billy & Samantha. It was boring to see the same problems in these marriages and it was very tiring.
Additional Comments: I hope that Locklear won't join 90210. They'll worsen her, like they did this season to Leighton. Now, wasn't that a shame? Also, on the topic of moving on, I recall hearing rumors that Jack Wagner will guest star on ER, and now that Clooney's gone, they DO need some hot young and sexy doctor to fill the shoes. They should all hope they will do as great as Milano & Thorne-Smith did upon their departure from MP, unlike the other who.....well.....suck and are anonemous. Take care, all

Favorite Storyline: My favorite Storyline is - (a) Anytime Michael and Sydney conspired to defraud someone else. These two are my favorite characters because they were always able to dream up something underhanded.
Least Favorite Storyline: I would say anytime the producers tried too hard to take someone out of character - ie the few weeks Billy was Mr. tough guy after Brooke died or when Michael turned into a stalker for two weeks of Amanda. Billy was always a sap, Michael was always a confident son-of-a-bitch, the characters make the show. I also hated the whole Jeff Baylor and/or Sam's dad routine. Those characters were weak.
Additional Comments: I am very sad the show is leaving, although I will admit the storylines are getting worn out. The show clearly lost something when so many of the origanl crew left, but it still is an entertaining hour every week and gives us loyal fans something to talk about. I hope Michael and Jane leave the show together to bring some closure to their relationship after so many years.

Favorite Storyline: Any story having to do with Sydney, with the exception of her lame relationship with Craig. I loved when Syd first came to town and started chasing Michael. Also any of the wacko stories with Kimberly. I'll never forget my reaction when she took of her wig!
Least Favorite Storyline: The Billy, Sam, Jennifer and whats his name (baseball guy). That story was lame from the get-go, and the way it was all so neatly rapped up was a real snooze. Bringing Coop to the show was a real drag too, his involvement with Kim and her mom, who cares, the only good thing was that story brought Lexi on the show.
Additional Comments: The best nighttime soap ever is no more. How sad for all of the fans, like myself. Just hope that the finale lives up to the expectations of all of the Melrose junkies like myself.

Least Favorite Storyline: Season 6, particularly Michael's ghetto, Samantha in general, Billy's acting, Rory, the writers' shameless transformation of Jennifer into Sydney Part II, the horrible writing and the loss of so many core characters.
Additional Comments: The Season 3 finale was one of the best two hour blocks of television ever. The acting, the pacing, the music, the direction were all brilliant. And the cliffhanger was great! Marcia Cross should have won an Emmy for that. The show went downhill after Sydney's death, though. They just couldn't fill the void. I think ending it now is a wise decision. I really hope they do it the smart way and bring back some old characters for the finale.

Favorite Storyline: It would definately have to be that whole Kim blowing uo the building drama, when that lady had a heart attack and Alison was getting all wasted in her apartment, they all went out with a bang, together. A close second would be when meghan and michael fell threw the roof!!!!
Least Favorite Storyline: billys detatchment from alison REALLY pissed me off, Lexi and her stupid seduction got old and so did michals joke of a character. Hi can we say walking std???
Additional Comments: Melrose will be sadly missed
We all love it and will remember it as part of our lives whether it be a melrose monda with friends during high school, or watching it at a bar rooting for amanda. thanks for being part of our lives. Long Live MELROSE, PEACE OUT BUFFY

Anything with Rob Estes. People don't give him enough credit. I think he is a talented actor and I hope to see him on TV again real soon.
I like to laugh at just how dumb Michael can be...the guy cracks me up at some of the things he does. He always manages to screw up!
Least Favorite Storyline: Sam/Billy/and the baseball player. God that was awful!
Additional Comments: I started watching Melrose only 2 years ago, so I had to catch a lot of re-runs on E!
I will miss the show, even if it was lousy sometimes, because it was my Monday night fix before WWF RAW on the USA Network! *LOL*
I'm gonna cry...they cancelled this, Silk Stalkings, Home Improvement, Clooney is off ER..they are ruining TV!!

Favorite Storyline: Oh, gosh there's so much to tell! I liked that whole psycho Kimmy storyline, when she keeps seeing that creepy swarthy guy in the mirror urging her to kill, Kimmy blowing up the building - that Betsy mess! It was so over-the-top and fun to watch and it made it easier to sit through dim-bulb Billy's scenes.
I also loved anything involving Sydney - she died much too soon!
Some other high points for me include: when Peter dumped Lexi and she darkened her hair and turned into a witchy maneating badgirl (and much more interesting, I might add!); when Sydney and Jane fell into the pool; when Mama Mancini came to town; when Peter had Amanda kidnapped; when Peter got stuck with an unwelcome Michael in the woods;
when Michael and Megan got drunk, tried to get it on, and wound up crashing through the roof onto Amanda's bed.
Least Favorite Storyline: That whole Samantha - Baseball stud - Billy triangle. In a word - BLEAH!!! I just wanted to see them all fall out a plate glass window.
I didn't like the ongoing saga of Billy and Allison, it was LAME okay? These two make wallpaper paste seem interesting by comparison.
I also thought cancer was a really lame way to kill Kimmy off. It was just so anticlimactic, I'd have preferred something more, well explosive.
Other low points: Megan's lame-ass affair with Coop, though it livened up some when Lexi re-married him and was prancing around in her slips to entice him; when Amanda got involved with that whole Parezi mess; this whole Eve Cleary jailbird turns songbird storyline; Jo's abusive fling with Jake's loser brother; that Taylor and Nick plot with the fake Christine and Amanda's subsequent guilt fest; Kyle's downward spiral into booze and drugs.
Additional Comments: I love this show, it is the only show I bother to watch regularly, I'm not ashamed to say I'm an addict, and I'm really going to miss it when it's gone. What on earth am I going to do with my Monday nights?
I'm going to repeat what a few others have said and wonder aloud - How can they cancel Melrose and keep that lame-ass 90210 on the air? What do they expect to fill the void, a two-hour Ally McBeal? I didn't think it was doing all that poorly in the ratings.
I just hope they give this wonderful show-of-shows the exciting send-off it deserves. There is going to be a definite void, this is the end of an era - no one makes good prime-time soaps like this anymore.

Other memorable moments: this season when Amanda and Lexi were at that awards ceremony, and also Lexi and Eve's big catfight where they slapped the hell out of eachother. And last but not least, Syd and Jane killing Richard.
Least Favorite Storyline: Billy/Sam/Baseball boy/Jennifer. Michael and that stupid nurse this season. Michael and the Children's fund story. Sam's dim-wit father. Kyle and Ryan's dim-wit father. Rory... ugh that was just plain out pointless. Anything Billy and Allison.
Additional Comments: My only regret about Melrose is that I did not start watching until the fourth season. Other than that, it was a great ride! Melrose will live on in my heart forever!

Favorite Storyline: Anything with Kimberly! Her plotlines were the best on the show (The Bomb is the all time greatest Melrose moment). Also...Taylor bashing her head in to fake Peter's rage epilepsy; Brooke's overall downfall; Peter's kidnapping and near labotomy; the D&D power struggle between Amanda and Alison; and the whole Bobby set up that Peter and Alycia planned.
Least Favorite Storyline: ANYTHING from Season 6. It was SOOOOOOO boring. Bringing Coop in and not killing off Craig sooner were the worst things the show ever did. Also...the fact that it took the writers too long to make Lexi a cool character and the fact that Kimberly was wasted in her last season (her hooker set-up plot...snore) were major screw-ups.
Additional Comments: It was a damn good show in its peak years (all of Season 3, all of Season 4, and most of Season 5). The departures of Kimberly and Sydney and the arrivals of Coop and Craig killed it.

Favorite Storyline: Anything involving Syd and Mchael or Kimberly and Michael. I loved it when Syd blackmailed Michael into marriage, it ran its dysfunctional course (complete with Michael's plot to murder Syd), and after all that, when they were divorced, she was his receptionist and would call him from work to gossip while she filed her nails. Marcia Cross was hands down the most brilliant actor ever on Melrose. I consider her one of the great sympathetic villains of all time. When she died I was SO truly upset. And I always loved Amanda's chemistry with Peter, his patented smirks, and the funny semi-hostile banter between Peter and Michael. Overall, the best plots have been all the many, many murder schemes/accidental killings (one on top of the other, each more improbable than the last) and the general incessant arguing and conflict. So entertaining, at least until the end of Season 5. Oh, and Syd and Jane's Richard-burial was another classic. Oh, and my favorite line of Amanda's (complaining to Craig as they come back to D&D immediately after his father's funeral): "God, could that funeral have been any LONGER?" (or words to that effect)
Least Favorite Storyline: The ridiculous romance of the great Syd and the moronic, completely lame Craig. Her death-- AAARRGH! At least Kim's death was a well-done episode. Coop was boring, true, and Jo and Jake were a snore, and Richard, Craig and Alex Bastian were awful characters, but no one comes close to Nick for sheer loathesomeness! Basically I blame Taylor for everything-- the show plummeted when she arrived and was never as good again (to put it mildly).
Additional Comments: It hurts me to say this, but the last 1 1/2 seasons have been so bad that it might really be a good thing to put it out of its misery.

Least Favorite Storyline: Anything with Brooke's whining was terrible...then I was so happy when they cracked her skull...only for MP writers to torture me further with her ghost!!! Matt and his dead brother's daughter was a bit too annoying, also. It also grossed me out to see Alison kissing Brooke's dad, no wonder she left the show... sometimes they can't pay you enough to do some things!
Additional Comments: Hopefully Megan will do something (anything!) in the final episode to be memorable. I hold dear the only time she truly amused me...falling through the ceiling half naked with Michael onto Amanda's bed!

Least Favorite Storyline: The Christine storyline with Amanda-Kyle. Jake falling in love with everyone. Any storyline that featured Matt (yawn!). Kyle/Taylor/Amanda/Peter storyline was contrived. Kimberley dying was sad!
Additional Comments: All good things come to an end, so the cancellation of Melrose is a shame, but hey it could turn out like Beverly Hills 90210 and go on forever without anyone caring anymore.

I also loved when Allison was president of D&D and Amanda screwed her over and took over (remember the cookie campaign?) and also the episodes right before Allison went to rehab and did whatever the hell she wanted.
Least Favorite Storyline: Samantha and her dad, anything involving Craig (except when 1. Billy handed him his raquetballs and said, "I beleive these are you balls" and 2. he blew his few brain cells out.) ANYTHING involving Jennifer, except the scenes when 1. Taylor lunged at her and threatened to rip her lungs out if she came near Peter and 2. Samantha and her tried to kill one another.
And, any plotline involving a small child.
Additional Comments: Top 3 Things I can't believe the censors let them get away with on Melrose Place (that I can think of off the top of my head)
1. When Kim didn't want Michael to have sex with Megan until she (Kim) died, and Michael told her she could always, you know, take care of herself, and she replied, "Michael, I married you, not a vibrator."
2.WhenJake went to beat Richard up after he raped Jane and threw him up against the wall and threatened him, and then after Jake left Richard looked like he got off on it and said, "Yes, *sir!* " sounding all turned on. When I found out later Patrick Muldoon is gay I was patting myself on the back.
3. When Kim was being Betsey and went and pulled the covers off Michael while he was sleeping, took a huge knife, and off-camera but VERY VERY OBVIOUSLY grabbed something and was going to pull a Lorena Bobbit on him.

Additional Comments: It's too bad that they lost so many characters in the 2nd half of season five Jane, Kimberly, Allison, Jake, Sydney and then Matt at the beginning of 1997-8. That's when the show started going down hill. This season hasn't been too bad, but it's too little too late. I too must say that I'm kinda glad to be released from this addiction.

Would anyone in the world besides Kyle think that this woman was the real Christine, especially since they supposedly had an intimate relationship? Amanda and Rory (why?)

Least Favorite Storyline: I can't really come up with anything specific here, I hated almost every storyline in season 6. Oh yeah, and any time Brooke was on screen I simply had to look away, I'm very happy her stay on the show was brief.
Additional Comments: Let's see.......I hate the new FOX president, I'm not very happy with Aaron Spelling (if he rehierd Laura Leighton we would not be talking about this in the first place), and just the fact that I will have to go through another year watching 90210 promos on fox......well without being too graphic let me just say that I won't enjoy it. Other than that I think the show had a good run (hey 7 years is NOT bad) and I hope the serious finale will live up to it's expectations.

Least Favorite Storyline: Anything from the first season where everyone was so nice and they toured the LA Riots damage, any storyline with Billy and Samantha (you could feel your brain melting twice as fast whenever they were on screen).
Additional Comments: After Brooke died in the pool I sort of lost interest in the storylines and watched out of habit. Got to the point where I just tape it now and watch it in 15 minutes on fast foward a lot. Would like to see the woman with the alligator boots that skipped out of the apt building in the middle of the night in the first episode of the show come back and drop a bomb shell to sort of bring the show full circle.

Least Favorite Storyline: Billy and Susan; Billy and Brooke; Billy and Sam; Billy and Jennifer (you see a trend?); Jo leaving; Syd and Kim dying (It's called moving away-- Try it sometime); Anything with Samantha; Craig (just a bad idea to bring him on); Michael's inner city clinic; the Parezi debacle; Billy not dying a slow and painful death; Matt's abusive relationship with Greg Evigan; Kimmy's cancer (yeah, I know i already mentioned it, so what?); Taylor's pregnancy; Kyle's self destruction; the whole Kyle-Amanda baby deal.
Additional Comments: Never miseed it, not once. I will be sad. And yes, I do have a life, it's just that I liked Melrose. And I know it was getting a little sad after a while, but please admit, once they got rid of the dead wood (goodbye Craig! Samantha! Billy! Coop! Billy! Billy!) it improved a little.
And I loved the whole falling through Amanda's roof thing. Eve was not a bad addition either. Could have been worse. But to finally clue things up, nothing on TV will ever compare to Season 2.

(and when are amanda and kyle gonna find out peter was behind the kidnapping?)
Additional Comments: at least there was one good episode this season, when micheal and jane almost get married, broke up, get married, then divorced in one episode! and then micheal and megan fall through the roof! one of the best ever. i'm gonna miss this show.

Ditto the bomb cliffhanger, and I also enjoyed when Brooke drowned in the pool and came back as a ghost to haunt that moron Billy.
Least Favorite Storyline: The fashion design wars of 95/96, the whole thing with Taylor pursuing Kyle forever instead of just moving on, the past two seasons, and Sydney's death. Also, anything involving Billy and Alison.
Additional Comments: For me, the show pretty much ended when Sydney died and Matt did his speech thing and left. Killing Syd off was the fatal mistake. I've watched MP since 1995, but the show has been so bad (especially lately), that the cancellation is almost a relief. I hope they do a really awesome series finale. I wanna see Kimberly's ghost!

Additional Comments: Maybe they can do a Seinfeld-type finale where they bring back all of the old, interesting characters. Even though most of them have been killed off, they can resurrect them all- in true soap form, we'll find out that they all faked their own deaths and have been living on a desert island hiding out from the mob all this time. The finale should definitely include Matt- he didn't even get an on-camera death scene!

Favorite Storyline: I really enjoyed the "Let's Destroy Amanda" storyline (end of Season 5). It could have been more spread out, but it was still enjoyable to see Amanda suffer and lose everything the same way practically every character in the show has.
Least Favorite Storyline: The Jake and Jess feud was ONE of the worst storylines I can think of off the top of my head. It was so predictable and really lame, I guess the only thing that worked about it was creating a character (Jess) that practically EVERYONE watching the show could despise!
Additional Comments: We can't change anybody's mind on the fate of MP. We should just be grateful that we were all part of this crazy show that will be a part of TV history like "Dallas" or "Dynasty". We should also realize that even though lame shows like 90210 will still go on, they will never have the place in TV history like our show will have!

Additional Comments: I am deeply saddened to hear that the end is near. I remember when Jerry Seinfeld announced that his show was ending and I was sad then, but the end of Melrose is harder for me to take. Melrose was the only show I absolutely had to watch no matter what. I have seen every episode and have been a loyal viewer for seven years. It will be extremely hard to say goodbye, but at least we can look forward to hopefully a kick-butt finale! Thanks for the memories, Melrose-- you will always be my favorite show. Thursdays are bad enough without Seinfeld, but Mondays are really going to be tough without Melrose.

Favorite Storyline: I guess it would be the time when Valerie Harper guest starred as Michael's mother when he
was running the clinic in the bad part of town. Michael is so oily, anything he does is fun to

Least Favorite Storyline: Another one of Jane's altercations with Richard over control of her dress designs, control over
her dress business, control over her dressmaking finances, control over which model would
wear her dresses, etc. Yuck!
Additional Comments: It's a pretty silly show, but when you watch a program every week for the past seven years,
you really get attached to it, so that's why I'm so pissed that it's cancelled! The women are
smart and bitchy and the guys are mostly well-dressed and cleancut, and everyone is out to
either get back at each other or sleep with the other person. I'm gonna miss this show!

Least Favorite Storyline: : Well, none of them were all that bad, but if I had to pick the worst, I'd say when Kimberly put Peter in the mental institution instead of her.
Additional Comments: When I said above that I hated Taylor and Lexi, I meant love to hate them. There weren't any characters I actually disliked in a bad way. Other than that, WE'LL MISS YOU MELROSE!!!!!!!
